I know this comes off as biased, but -

IMO the Jeffrey outperforms the JJ in all of those aspects. It's a ski that you don't have to think about, it just skis how it's supposed to, and does what you want it to, and saves your ass in sketchy situations or if you get lazy.

The JJ is OK, but I can name at least 5 skis I would be on from companies other than ON3P first. And yes, I have skied them back to back! Core feel and shape being the biggest two. I found the JJ shape to not want to listen to me in variable snow, and the core feel isn't very forgiving in bumpy or choppy terrain.

Thanks for the input. My biggest problem with my jjs are when the snow is variable or i hit a hard patch. I love how responsive and easy that are in fresh snow, but it seems like I'm working very hard a lot of the time.

Hmm, anybody know when ON3P usually start to sell next years ski? If the " limited custom option topsheet" thingy happen i guess it will be at the start of the orders? Since i can't go for one ski, i will have to get the Jeffrey 122 and Kartel 106, and that ain't cheap. Fuck compromises

Looking at getting a new AT setup for next year. Im 6'4" 200+lbs and want a 190+ ski.

Looking at the weights of even the Steele(one meant for touring) it seems that these skis have some serious heft. I have the OG 191 BG and honestly, if they are only .1 lbs lighter than the "powder Touring" ski that is offered next year, ill probly just use what i have.

you guys planning on laying up some lighter Big skis anytime soon?

Production Steeple weights will be quite a bit lighter than is listed in the catalog. We ran out of the lighter bamboo material we use for tour skis before SIA, so we just built the skis with the heavier stock material before the show.

Since the catalog was for our retailers who were there checking out the skis in person, we wanted to be totally honest about the weights for the skis we were showing them at the show.

Once we get our production tour material back in house, we will update the Steeple weights.

Hope that clears it up.

Any topsheet swap option will be in the spring.

We haven't decided yet when skis will go live on the website, but it won't be any later than August.

Hmm. Is it final that there will be no 191 Jeffrey 114? That was a ski I was really looking forward to getting as my everyday shredder in all kinds of conditions.

For now. Maybe next year. There is like 2 of you asking for it, so unfortunately the interest is just really low at the moment. We have prototype 13/14 191cm Jeffreys floating around, but so far we just haven't had many people show much interest in that size. Sorry.

Is the kartel 98 somewhat comparable to the jmo? Will it be able to handle some all mnt shredding?

Both the Kartel 98 and Kartel 106 are based on the Jeronimo, so definitely both capable of skiing all mountain.

Think of it this way - with the Jeronimo, people were always asking us what we thought and in their description, they would say something like 40% park/60% all mountain, or 70% park/30 % all mountain, etc.

We basically wanted to take that park/all mountain ratio and turn it into two different skis.

If you want a super park oriented ski, go with the Filthy Rich or Prester.

If you want an all mountain capable ski that is still good in the park, go with the Kartel.

To decide on what Kartel you want:

If you are 50% or more in the park, go Kartel 98.

If you are 50% or more all mountain, go Kartel 106.

That is a general guideline and you can obviously do anything you want, but that is our thinking behind the 2 ski line.

We've been talking about it for 2 years now. As for dimensions....sorry but cannot say anything yet. We aren't even sure how we'll RES will translate yet. If we like them and think it is a concept we bring to production we will drop a bit more info.

So to double check that i got this right, IF you do topsheet swaps, do ii have to wait for Spring 2015 to get Jeffrey 122 and kartel 106 2014/15 skis with topsheet swapped out?

They've skied them one day....so far so good, but everyone is going to have to be a bit patient. These will be a 15/16 release at best, but potentially later. We will probably hold off on posting a ton about them until it looks like they are really on the path towards production.

Everyone cut the topsheet shit

You get what you get, and you don't get upset. I told my four year old Godson that today, and he is four. He turned four today. We were at his birthday party, and he understands that expression. He is four.

Anyways, read any Caylor review and you will know exactly what you are getting with the Jeffrey 122. However, with two more millimeters of cold, hard love. The kind of love you get from your Priest.

Any major differences between the 106 kartel and 114 jeffrey besides the added width? I'm currently on the east coast but enjoy fatter skis. Current have bent chetlers and alpha 1's for park, so looking for something in the middle that can do a little of everything.

Kartel = Smaller turning radius, less tip taper, elliptical sidecut.

Jeffrey = Larger turning radius, more tip taper, bi-radius sidecut.

For the each coast, I would go with the Kartel 106 between the Alpha and Bent Chetlers. The Jeffrey 114 and Bent Chetlers are going to overlap quick a bit.
