looking to replace my Kung fujes from 2010 with either a ON3P or an atomic ski...

179 Kung Fujas
187 Salomon LAB GS ski
165 Salomon SL ski
it would be my go to ski in conditions from Scotland to the Alps and to Utah... likely though it will be kept away from the Scottish heather though as i will probably just keep the Kung Fujas for skiing here...
any thoughts on which one??? will be used for everything - bumps, cruising, small jumps, the odd rail... right now i love my Kung Fujas but they are falling apart even missing an inch of one of the edges...

I guess I am confused as to what you are asking. You have a very wide variety of skis there only one of which is an on3p or atomic and none of which are similar to each other. As far as length if you liked the 2010 Kung Fujas you had I would probably go a size up because the rocker profile you will get from the new skis will allow longer boards to ride shorter. As far as model if you want something similar to the fujas I would say either the on3p Karel or the Atomic automatic.

OP, the radius on the 2010 Fujas was 21 meters with a 95 waist, pretty symmetric too. The tip/tail splay is only 5 mm, so it has a super slight rocker.
The most similar ski that ON3P makes is the 181 Kartel 98. But it's going to be a totally different ride. The rocker profile will be much more obvious, higher and about 10 cm longer. Also the sidecut doesn't engage at all like your Fujas will. It will stick be a wicked pair of sticks you should get on
What are your vitals? If you are happy on the 191 BG maybe the 186 would be the call. Also if you want a little more width, the Kartel 106 only has a meter long sidecute, but again, it is super untraditional

However, Pudge may be onto what you actually could use more - if you're not ripping huge switch turns or plan to keep the kung fujas in your quiver a bit yet, the Wren 102 would be a very fun directional ski to mix up your quiver!
and if there was something better coming at SIA i would wait past this years sales...

yep not a switch skier... just as mentioned a fly about muck about on the mountain skier...

Big fan of the brand, I have never not enjoyed a ski of theirs and the customer service is the best. if i am using cartel 98s as my primary park ski, where should i mount it? i was thinking -2 or so because i don't want to get too far away from recommendation which i know is -4.5, but earlier in the thread someone said that karl mounts his -1.

On NYE we were 3guys being defeated by a single ski, we got the tip and tail to touch each other. Made a new rocker profile that looked exactly like the letter U. One guy were holding the tail in place while 2guys had their whole body weight on the tip while jumping simultaneously. Unbreakable.
Too bad the edges wouldn't hold up and I had to retire them.
Super fun ski, really expensive if you live in Europe, but unsnappable.

my filthy rich from 12/13 season just crapped out on me monday.... i dropped a rock into some pow and ate shit and i went to put my ski back on and the topsheet from directly behind the heel piece of my binding came off all the way too the top of my ski i tried posting pics of it but idk how now...stripped all the way to the center core... sad sad day now i need a new pair of filthies

BG is still around and the tweaks we've made to it are really just refining where it is at - we updated the tail shape so that it is less catchy and allows the ski to pivot a bit easier, and makes it easier to kick turn for those who are touring on it, and it comes in a new size range (161, 174, 179, 184, 189), but sort of just a progression as the BG in the past. We toyed with updating the brand name, but decided to keep the BG name as 1) it is really strong brand and 2) the changes are really tweaks, just further dialing in the ski, and in the end, changing the name didn't feel right. Gotta be honest, though, there were more changes we've been interested in and wanting to test, but with about 70" of total snowfall at Meadows so far this season, there hasn't been enough snow to really test any of them, so some ideas we have won't make it to production until 16/17.
Everything looks beautiful. And finally some new shirts! Any chance you'll print the 'go skiing with your friends' text on the back of the ON3P shirts?

Plus I like to get stuff from smaller companies, dunno why. But once again theres no one I can ask around my hometown nor try anything so here I am.
So... I need a daily driver and unfortunately, as freestyle/freeride is not big here, a lot of my friends still ski on-piste. So I kinda need something that can rip hardpack/groomers, but be playful enough around trees and such. I will get a pow ski next season and that would be my quiver.
I've set my eyes on the Wrenegade 102 in 176. I'm 155lbs and 5,6ft tall. Quite small.

definitely will! I'm 5'5" / 150 and I wished there was a 171 wrenegade 102, I'd ski the 112 in that 176cm size, but don't think I'd want a 102 in that size! so I think will be plenty of ski for your size!
people have been skiing pow and ripping trees on skis well under 80mm wide for years.
102 is a great width for an every day ski. I still spend a ton of time on my 184 Legend 105s, which are honestly pretty similar to the Wrenegade 102 IMO. The Wrenegade 102 might in fact replace them.
The other ski I would consider would be the Armada ARVti.
So ON3P... if I've been happy with your men's skis for years, why should I consider jumping over to your women's lineup instead? How will the "rounder" flex change how they ski/change who the ski is ideally suited for?

Yeah you're right I guess. It's just one of those things where I really like the idea so I'd like the chance to support it.
But since my 171 Caylors ski way too short for anything but playful pow days, there's isn't any way I can see me being happy with the skinny little sister. It's disappointing, because we talk and talk about getting away from the 'shrink and pink' mentality, and here's ON3P, who almost exclusively markets to aggressive and demanding skiers, so they seem like the perfect company to pull it off. And I guess the skis aren't pink, but I'm not seeing a whole lot of changes beyond shrink. When they only go up to a 171 in a fully rockered ski, it really seems like they decided to go for the tag-along-girlfriend market rather than the boobed version of their men's market. I know they are a small company and have to build what sells, but if I'm 5'4 and the skis are too short for me what about those women who are 5'7? Or 5'10? Almost every other brand has caught on and started producing skis for women in the mid-170s so there's definitely some demand for it.
I guess I can't really be upset when ON3P still has several other skis in their lineup that appeal to me. But it kind of feels like I got led on and I'm still hoping for some indication I wasn't entirely stupid for getting my hopes up.

Many of the 190+ cm skis have been disappearing. My guess is that ON3Ps women's line will be significantly far from most of the shrink and pink offerings around. The most popular sizes of womens skis are between 150 and 169. There are more skis 149cm or shorter sold to women than skis over 170. I think ON3P is trying to grow into the retail market and has full confidence in its current female customers knowing that they don't need a women's specific ski, and will be more than happy on the smaller sized skis from the past. Nothing wrong with a 174 Billy Goat or 176 Kartel.
To compound on that statement. Contrary to popular belief most women buying skis actually want it softer, easier to ski, and in pink. Significantly more than don't want it in pink.

My kartels are my favorite ski ever. They can do everything ive thrown at it with ease. I love them so much.
If i didnt have my kartels the shreditors woulda been my other ski of choice. Both skid looks super fun..but i would go kartel if i was you. Theyre a quiver killer

How did the 106s handle the whole mountain? I have FR's and absolutely love them but I need a burlier ski with more ass behind it for Jay Peak. I'm not trying to win the FWT, but I'm also not looking for just an uber fat park ski. Trying to decide between Kartel 106 and Jeffrey 114. Needs to be nimble enough for the crazy tight trees at Jay but still rip steep open sections.
In a perfect world I would get the kartels for all mountain and the billy goats for powder, but I'm a college student (aka no money) so I'm thinking the jeffreys might be a good 1 ski middle ground. Unless the loss in powder performance from the jeffreys to the kartels is less than the loss in nimbleness from the kartels to the jeffreys which would warrant just getting the kartels

I own the Jeffrey 114 now, The Kartels are definitely faster edge to edge. They handled all the trees off of Wildcat with ease. Unfortunately there's not a ton of snow here in Utah, so I can't really say how they handle powder, they busted through all the crud with ease as do most On3p's.
