Unless you're delusion is getting in the way from you actually seeing reality and you're the one that's the most delusional.. I don't think its fair to say that I'm that delusional when only about 4 people on this website have actually met me in person. To know that someone is really delusional you'd have to meet and know them, otherwise you would just be judging someone that you don't even know

I fucking hate gay marriage activists. They act like they're all about freedom and equality, but all they really care about is sticking it to republicans. If these people really supported freedom then they'd also be lobbying to legalize polygamist marriages and incestuous marriages.

Also, these idiots claim banning gay marriage is discrimination. It's not. All men have equal marriage rights. A straight man can't marry another man any more than a gay man can, and a gay man can marry a woman just the same as a straight man. Saying gay marriage prohibition discriminates against gays is like saying cocaine prohibition discriminates against cocaine users.

As long as what you're doing doesn't infringe upon anybody else's rights, you should be allowed to do whatever you want. If you want to fuck another dude, go for it. If you want to shoot up heroin, go for it. If you want to bang your sister, go for it. I don't give a shit what you do in the privacy of your own home.

Milk-Man: the reason people think you are so delusional is because you seem so 100% sure you are right. Only insane people think they are 100% right in their religous belief. There is always doubt, and good points to be made for both sides. You would seem less delusional if you aknowledged some of the good points the other side makes- this does not make you any less of a believer.

Also, gay marriage might be the single most trivial political debate ever. Two gays can still have a wedding ceremony, they can still walk down the aisle, they can still consummate the marriage, they can still go on their honeymoon. All that's different between a gay marriage and a straight one is you don't get a piece of paper from the government recognizing your union.

Gay marriage activists whine and moan about the benefits of marriage, but they're all so fucking trivial. Hospital visitation rights? Seriously, who gives a shit?

My solution: Allow anybody to form a civil union. This way gays are satisfied because they get all those precious marriage benefits that don't really make a fucking difference, and the religious whackjobs who moan about the sanctity of marriage are satisfied because gays aren't technically getting married. And most importantly, the whole political world can move on to discussing topics of actual importance.

Well they can't get put on a health insurance policy if one of them gets family insurance from work, same goes for home and car. If one of them dies suddenly and no will was made that person would legally receive nothing, and they can't clam it on their taxes. The list goes on there, was a gay police offer that was killed on the job and his partner couldn't get the 300,000$ insurance policy, because they weren't "legally married." there is A lot of stuff that legal married couples can do that a boyfriend girlfriend can't do.

I'm all for polygamist marriages, and as long as there is a way to stop incestuous married couples from having children, i'm down with that, too.

dictionary definition of discrimination: "the practice of unfairly treating a person or group of people differently from other people or groups of people" It seems pretty damn clear it is discrimination.

Except the gay ones, of course. That's like saying making inter-racial marriage illegal isn't discrimination because all black men would have the same rights and all white men would have the same rights.

I know but I think it would be a good start to get your foot in the door. why not just have a civil union and then try to change it to a marriage later, instead of not being we get married at all.

because thats putting gays lower than others. Now if the government said it would legally recognize no future marriages, and would only refer to them as civil unions, and anyone could be in them, that would work.
