Replying to College Problem

I’m a full time student taking 15 credits. I’m enrolled in an economics class and have not yet purchased the 300 dollar book. The teacher speaks a different language and writes gibberish on the board. I am the only white person in the class. If I drop out it will severely hurt me financially because i’ll go below 12 credits. Should I just go and fail the class and then retake it? I have talked to my advisor and he said he doesn’t know and I have called, emailed and gone to the academic advisement center but they keep telling me to talk to my advisor.

I don’t want to be a bum.
