Replying to Just got played

So there's this guy at school I liked forever. Super hot the whole deal you know. Different group of friends so I don't really know him. One day he liked a bunch of my pictures on fb and messaged me. I got super excited and all that. I have a class with one of his best friends Joe, so I nonchalantly asked him what's his deal with talking to me. Later Joe asked out and to prom.. He knew I liked his best friend and I thought he knew he was friend zoned (don't mean to sound rude) so I politely said no. Anyways me and this guy texted for a few weeks then he asked me to prom! He was going to prom with this chick Sara and when i asked what happened he said she was playin games (She has a boyfriend).This was my dream come true since I always wanted to go with him. The only thing is he asked me via text so I said maybe if you ask me in person. Ohh also we have NEVER talked in person. So after a week or so of him giving me extremely rude looks in the halls and not replying to my texts he put in a relationship as his Facebook status. A few days later I found out he's going to prom with Sara again (which is not his girlfriend). Now a few weeks later he noticeably checked me out 3 times in a row.. and every time I walk by his friends they just stare at me, and it's not in my head since my friends notice it too. I'm more irritated then anything since I was the rebound date from Sara . So could anyone tell me what I did "wrong"... ? Or am I just acting too girly about this?
