So a pretty big kicker has been built once again at the bottom of le face in Val d'Isere. Skiers include Vinny Gagnier, PK Hunder, Mcrae Williams, Kai Maheler, Bellemare and many more. Should be a sick contest if the weather clears up. Think there is a live stream going around too.
Results from railjam final (2 best tricks counts):
Best trick:
1. Felix Usterud, Norway - Huge 450 gap to rail
2. Alex Bellemare, Canada - Butter 270 on dfd, 270 out (i think)
3. Jesper Tjäder, Sweden - 450 to flatrail to downrail 270 off
4. Øystein Bråthen, Norway - Flip/rodeo to dfd-rail
The tv production was really bad at times soo kinda hard to keep track
snowboard big air canceled due to weather , damn , hope things clear up for the skiers . that jump looks soo tasty, really want to c what the guys do with it , hope fully they get the chance with the weather etc.., rail jam was sick tho.
Everyone absolutely killed it. Big shout out to the commentators, they were really entertaining to listen to and I don't think they called a single trick wrong.
Could have just been a 1440... looked really fast though, gonna have to watch a replay for sure. His second hit in the super finals.
Vinny got the win in my books. And damn PK... he could have brought a book to read while hitting the jump, making those tricks look so smooth and floaty.
If he did a dub bio 16 before, then, I think, it was a 1800, simply because he couldn't have spun any further, if he "only" did a 12, it most likely was a 1440.
right? I could have sworn his first hit was a 16. Too bad we couldn't go back on the live feed and rewatch. I counted during the instant replay and got 18, but that just seems cray.
Does anyone else feel like frostgun always kind of gets swept-under-the-rug coverage-wise? I feel like it's supposed to be this big thing and every year really sick tricks are thrown down but there just isn't that much excitement for it online.
Agreed, however I think that would all change if they could attract more of the bigger names that compete at X-Games big air. Having said that most of the skiers that competed this year killed it, just if the quality of skier was improved further it would have been even more exciting.
