Just bought some ar7s and i need to throw some bindings on them, I have both the marker griffons and the salomon sth 12 bindings and im wondering what would be best to mount on them.
Yeah i dont know if they are oversize or the driver toe, i will have to check when i get home. What is the difference between the two?
I also dont know what year it is, its got some sort of plaid design on the toe piece if anyone knows. This is the best picture i have for now and ill try to get on up when i get home.
I was gunna take those off that ski and get smaller brakes and mount them on the ar7 or just transfer the marker griffons onto them (probably would be easier). just seein what the concensus is
On mobile, so I can't tell from the pic, but they look like old, non-oversized z toe sth12s. I personally ride salomon, but that is their lowest end "free ride" toe piece. It would be the same toe piece you would see on a mid range-lower end system ski, just with a higher din and Teflon afd.
Yep they are the old sth12 oversize. Now the heel is much better on the sth then the griffon but that oversize toe is not great. I prerelease all the time on those. So of the two prob go griffon.
Why would you go warden over sth2. The only reason to get the warden is if you use rockered touring soles. Unless the op is in touring boots which I'm guessing he is not he may as well stick with the sth. Not that the warden would not also be great for him it's just he does not need them.
i just recently got the atomic ffg 16 (same as the sth 16) and i love them, better then fks or pivots, and far better then griffons i'd go with the sth2 13 wtr if i were you,
Oh yeah for sure they could work, but they cost a bit more then sth so unless you ride rockered soles and need them you may as well stick to the sth. Also there is only a 13 DIN version the first year, so if your after a higher DIN it will have to be sth for now.
But dont get me wrong the warden is a great binding and I will be using them on my all mnt setup so I can use touring boots or my alpine boots, but for park skis I will keep sth.
