Replying to Skier skating/skater skiing

So I'm 15, I started skiing when I was six and I started skateboarding also when I was six. I consider myself more of a skateboarder only because I get to skate more, but then again it's hard to put myself under one category because I share the same love with skiing. All of my friends that I skate with snowboard and constantly give me shit for skiing. Last that I checked, there isn't a rule that all skateboarders must snowboard. I just don't understand. I think snowboarding is great and all, but why can't we all get along. Why is it so wrong for a person to shred on skis and shred on a skateboard. But all in the end we share the same love. There is nothing like being up on the mountain slashing snow and ripping the park with your friends. But why must a skater snowboard???
