Best editing software that isn't stupidly complicated?

Might finally grab a camera and start making some edits. Wanted to for year but never had a camera. All my footy was always on other peoples cameras and 3/4 of the time never went anywhere or disappeared.

Looking for something that I'd be able to figure out but I don't want to make really cheesy edits.

This question could have been asked a million times but I don't get over to M&A ever. Any advice?

Premiere pro and after effects but those are difficult. So for simple go for imovie. Not the best but it can get the job done. But id go for the adobe suite and just put in the time

Neither Premiere Pro or Final Cut are hard to figure out. To make a watchable ski edit you don't even have to go too in depth technically with editing. Basically just need to know how to properly import footage, arrange it on a timeline with a song, do some basic color correction, and export it with the right settings.

You could learn all the basic technical stuff in a day with the help of youtube tutorials. The rest is just practice, and having a good visual sensibility (i.e. figuring out what distinguishes good edits from the "cheesy" ones).

Word. I have a good eye for it I just didn't want it to be something where I need to spend 10 years looking through tutorials just to make progress.

I want to make some straight forward edits, probably short ones that flow well with the beat. Out of the two which program would you choose?

Final Cut Pro 7 is obsolete; no point in learning on that at this point. Most people seem to hate Final Cut Pro X, and Avid actually has a really steep learning curve. So that pretty much makes Premiere the only choice these days for most people. Plus if you get CC or CS you're also getting Light Room, Photoshop, After Effects, etc. Its a good deal.

Premiere is very easy to use as soon as you learn about 4 short cut keys and 4 buttons/menu selections.

You click and drag footage into the project, click and drag them into a timeline, file -> export and youre done

Lol, made this little guy in there at work the other day. Could probably make something decent if you spent a little time in there. But I don't have imovie at home anyway. My first edit

i would try to torrent final cut x. its pretty simple. i watched my friend use it for 15 minutes and now i know how to do everything. if you dont have a mac, then im not sure.

I filmed the shots from the otherside. Most of whish I didn't use because because through better tricks. Got the dub swap from the kid in the tan hoodie. Gave the guy I work with the go pro to film the other stuff. I was too busy. I know how to film. Done plenty of it for other people just never done any editing.

Also it's kind of like pictures. I take pretty good pictures of other people but if I want a picture of something seems like it takes 8 tries to get it. Oh well.

Final cut:
Theres a window for your clips from the camera.
Another window with a video to watch the camera videos.
Another window with a video that lets you see what you are editing.
and a long thing on the bottom for putting the camera clips in so they become viewable in the right window (where you see what you have edited)

Now go edit

quick imovie edit while working but I filmed everything except the shots of the kid in the red hoodie cause that was me.

Final Cut Pro X is pretty simple to use, not really any learning curve there, and will give you a lot more than Imovie

adobe production premium is a ton and that has premiere pro and after effects, anyone know how to torrent these because every time I try it doesn't work or I get some virus
