Whats going on in Venezuela??

I have some friends who are posting about crazy shit going on there. Looks a lot like the scenes of Ukraine. But they are all saying things like the international media isn't showing anything or reporting of anything that is going on. Is it a civil war or just riots? Anyone know?

The international media isn't covering it because they don't know what is going on because they don't have any reporters there due to issues with press freedom, a group of reporters from some agency were ordered out of the country at gunpoint and the agencies dont want their reporters put in jail or killed like what happened to the al jazeera ones in egypt.

getting pretty nasty. this CBC article has some great pictures.
