Rails when they're sticky

I've noticed a lot that most mountains in the east always have the one really good rail that u can do on and off tricks easily, but that rail is almost always sticky, has a rut in the lip and a horrible landing. This pisses me off because its hard to learn off and on tricks on bad rails, so does anyone have a way to overcome these sticky rails?

I'll help you out then. When you see said sticky rail, spit on it and smear it around with your mitt, this way, on the next run it will be silky smooth for you to practice your lip front 270 rail trick (It sounds weird, but it actually works)

you would be suprised....the amount of newschoolers who ride with Goat Seamen is pretty high...I think Mr Bishop once did a study and 85% of Newschoolers ride with some on them just in case

Just bring wax to the mountain and put it on the rail when no one's hitting it, or a candle would work too, just rub it all over the rail and make sure your skis are waxed good

Wax doesn't really do anything on park rails.

The reason rails get sticky is because of a bunch of factors. Temperature, humidity, ice, amount of use all play roles in making sticky rails. The only thing to really do is suck it up. The reason that "one rail" is always fucked is because it gets the shit beat out of it. It's a sign of a good feature..but they're almost impossible to keep up with. The only thing I've really found that helps is WellsWorth's Slippery Stuff, it's a spray on silicon and it makes rails slide FAST...but skiing with a can of that in your pocket at all times would suck. My solution, go faster and learn on other rails.

You should be able to buy it at your local shop or t least a synthetic replica of some sort. This shit seriously helps, not fucking around. Go to your lical shop and ask for handy-goat rail lubricant or some kind of goat seamen synthetic formula, they should be able to help you out.

everyone gets trolled 84% of the time when they make new thread its just how it is unfortunately.
i rarely rail rails that i find sticky.. but in spring time it happens and usually i just grab some snow and kinda grind the rail with my hand full of snow if that makes any sence.. spit might also work lol. or buy a package of that weird soap thingy that they use for skateboarding and use it on rails to make them less sticky

So every mountain had a rail that's really good but really bad but if you can overcome it really good as all really inherently are?

Why not just save yourself the time and move onto another rail. Or just do a better job detuning your edges. Boxes I can see, but most places having sticky rails? not so much. Maybe you need to get out more.

As far as ruts and a bombed out landing it's because everyone else likes that rail and hits it too.

my 5 step program

1. go faster = less friction/catch chance
2. skis aren't flat enough = to much metal to metal
3. skis aren't tilted enough = catching lead edges
4. be a boss = your just expecting to slide like magic, balanced your leg weighting and use your muscles
5. cheeseburgers = more weight, more momentum, less hookups... = less babes = less hookups

dude if you sharpen ur edges, your front edge will carve through all the stickiness and previously applied goat seamen with ease, like a samurai sword through jello. so yea just sharpen ur shit up and you'll slide more easily. also putting chemickals like bleach on your bases and on the rail will result in extra slideage because of the repelling nature of seamen/bleach. one is hydrophobic and the other is hydrophilic so yea it'll be good
