Replying to So things have been getting really weird in my house
I'm currently renting a house on a lake in northwestern ct. It's a gorgeous 3 bedroom cottage with 100' of waterfront. The rent is a steal at 1k a month with heat and hot water included. I was so stoked to settle into a new place and be out of the nest for good.
I moved in all my stuff and spent the first couple of nights sleepless... Swimming in the lake, going for long walks (this is in September). Then a few nights in I started hearing some weird noises but I thought nothing of it since the house is from the early 50s and houses that old make constant popping noises. As time went on it kind of ramped up but I still convinced myself I had an explanation for everything.
Then about two months in I was sleeping with my gf and she screamed and I shot up. Apparently she thought I was pacing around the room at night and went to ask why I was doing it, when she realized I was still in bed and she absolutely freaked. Never went back to sleep and sat out in the other room with the lights on.
Then... It happened again a couple of weeks later but this Time she said whatever was walking around didn't look human but she really couldn't explain what happened. That was all probably in early November or so. A little after this my dog started just randomly SCREAMING from time to time and he'd run under the table and just shake for hours. Still can't explain it.
Go forward another couple of months and I am out at dinner with my cousin. asks me how the new place was and I kept all the weird stuff to myself and just told him that the setting was awesome and the house was nice etc. he started talking about how his friend rented a house on the lake and they'd always see really scary, almost evil looking stuff inside the house and out in the backyard in the floodlights. Well I ended up drinking too much that night so he gave me a ride home. The house his friends family rented was th one next door. Neither of us had any idea until that moment and I just stayed quiet about any "weird stuff" still even though that revelation jarred me slightly.
Zoom forward to this week and it's gotten worse. I was vacuuming the other day and out of the corner of my eye saw something that might have taken me from someone who doesn't believe in hell to someone who does. I have no idea what the fuck i saw. Orange... All I can really remember is something orange FLYING up the stairs.
Then two days ago I was making some coffee and my girlfriend was in the other room. I felt her put her hand on my shoulder and say my name quietly in my ear so I turned around with a smile to say hi and boom... Jo ones there. I kind of lost it there and now I can't really sleep at night. I think I live in a portal to hell lol.
The constant footsteps and all that were manageable but now when I hear my name and something is hurting my dog it's a little unnerving.
Call ghost busters??
