Your defense is one picture? U mad bro? PP called out Sherm with some real facts and he gets all PMSy and puts up pictures like that , or some of his stats.
He may not be your definition of a "lock down" corner but why are teams then so scared to throw his way? in that game against san fran, he got thrown at maybe, twice? and that last play was one of them. being able to produce so effectively in the short amount of reps he gets each game has gota say something. i dont care who youre, you have to respect his talent. to be one of the top 4 cb in the league is damn impressive. imo he is closer to the top 1,2 than 4. but now you guys will never respect a seahawk fans opinion so what am i say right? go about your business hating us. its cool i guess.

Haden, Peterson and Revis are all above him.
You sir, are a fucking moron :]
A game winning play in the biggest game(lol Denver pls) of the year against your rivals counts as being a Shutdown corner. Or that walkoff pick 6 he had against the Texans. PP is way more athletic, but he doesn't have the pro in him that Sherman has proven he has. The "X" factor.
Signed Garrett Scott even though the medical team found he has a condition that stops him from playing football at a professional level , it causes him to touch his signing bonus of 550 000$ and he is covered by the insurance of the team so he will be treated.

Didn't Sherm get burned by TY Hilton in a big time game? You're not a shutdown corner if you play zone. That would be like calling a linebacker a "shutdown LB" because he also plays a zone. I've seen plenty of speedy WR's burn Sherm when he tries to play man against them. Can't say the same for PP. He can cover speedy WRS and strong WR's.

Lord_ByronTypical seahawks fan gets to celebrate typical Lombardi. Ok.
you really are tho you dont seem to know much and just say go seahawks over and over
would be interesting to find a buccaneers fan thread from 2002 and see how similar they are
we have a team? they're good? they won? ok, Im all in now.
strange how the least invested fan base takes it so personally, maybe a product of the 12th man stuff and all the marketing idk but its definitely fucking weird how you guys never cared before but now see the team as an actual part of yourselves.

Quoting for emphasis. Seems like bandwagon fans for sure, esp after last year. That's when the whole 12th man started getting NATIONAL attention. Then all those Seattle hipsters popped out and started calling everyone haters for questioning their fan allegiance.

Lololol. My dad has been a HUGE seahawks fans since he lived in Seattle in the 80's. My mom was a broncos/49er's fan, and I sided with my dad. He actually has a signed royal blue Warren Moon jersey. I have a Lofa Tatupu, Matt Hasselbeck, Russell Wilson and #12 jersey. I have a signed Alexander the Great poster hanging above my bed.
Our hawks have changed. The new stadium brought more of that twelfth man spirit out, and Pete Carrol and Schneider have put together a team that is an extenuation of that attitude. We think we are the best, because we just proved that we are. Obviously some pretty smart people also think Sherman is a shutdown corner since they paid him more than any other ever. Those people aren't smart? Well the just put together a team led by a second year quarterback to a championship. They have proven their wisdom.
And the extra pride you seem to think we have is just how Seattle is. We are always getting forgoten about or ignored not just in the NFL but in the entire scope of American focus. We lost the sonics, the Seahawks had never won a superbowl, the Mariners blow, but the people here are more passionate than some other cities (Miami) because we always feel ignored even when we do well. Hell people have to call us "Washington State". So it means a lot to beat out everyone's favorites, and it seems predictable that you would all hate on us for it.
So if you think PP is a better corner thats great, he can enjoy his superbowl he didn't win as the true shutdown corner.
hey-dude-its-meyou guys never cared before but now see the team as an actual part of yourselves.
how would you know how "real" of fans we are? just because this is the first year i have actually commented in this thread, doesnt show anything about how long iv supported the seahawks and all seattle sports teams. byron nailed the head on the coffin for how the 12th man mentality developed.

Seattle is always the backwater when it comes to NATIONAL attention, so who gives a shit about NATIONAL attention.
There's a reason why the false start rate at centurylink had been higher than every other nfl stadium since it was built, and it wasn't because of the 2013/2014 super bowl run. The kingdome, the predecessor, was LOUD as hell, and guess what? It was blown up 14 years ago.
All teams that go through as period of success get a swollen fan base. Yes, it's appropriate to say some are bandwagon fans, but it isn't unique to Seattle at all. Before the Red Sox went on their dynastic run and sold out 820 consecutive games, they were an afterthought. I went to a game at Fenway when fucking Pedro was pitching and the place was at like 60% capacity.
In summation: LOB, Seahawks are the shit, fuck you all

When people in NY start talking about the 12th man and how they somehow contribute to it because thats ALL they talk about on the sports channels, and its NATIONALLY broadcast, yeah that's annoying as fuck.
Bandwagon fans aren't new? Thanks pal I had no clue. It's not even about bandwagon fans being a fan of the team, its about them comparing their players to players on other teams making lame ass excuses like "oh we won a trophy so that's my rebuttal" when valid facts are brought up.
Remember when everyone thought Nnamdi Asomougha was the best CB in the NFL? Then he went to two different teams and sucked balls? Yeah product of a system.
Sherman is the same way. He's good at what he's asked to do, he bumps the receiver then falls into a zone. He guards a space of field, not a player.
Look at someone like Revis who's gone to multiple teams and still locked shit down. Haden has been under multiple D-Coordinators with different schemes and still locked shit down.
Have Sherman play man by himself with no help, you'll see why he was drafted in a later round.
LOB is a fucking joke, call me when you go 1 full year without positive piss tests.
gRAPEFRUITLOB is a fucking joke, call me when you go 1 full year without positive piss tests.
Da fuck outta here with that weak shit.
Classic Seattle hater. "LOB is a JOKE!" Who was it that won the Superbowl and made the best offense of all time look like a joke? Oh right it was the best secondary in the NFL. Man they sure do suck, I'd much rather have Peterson and Revis than a Superbowl win.
Nnamdi never won his team an NFC title game. Or shutdown his receiver in the Superbowl. Sherman didn't just have good stats, he had the clutchest of clutch plays. Nnamdi didn't.
This whole argument for who is better between Peterson and Sherman is like Brady vs. Peyton. Both have their strengths and both have their weaknesses. Any team would take either player.
However, we cant really determine if either Peterson or Sherman is a product of their system unless they left their current team which will not happen any time soon.

hey-dude-its-metrent dilfer is better than dan marino. count the rings
Sigh. Sherman didn't just ride a good team to the superbowl, he fucking won that team games. He was probably the 2nd most important piece after Earl Thomas. Who unquestionably was the best safety, no, fuck that, the best defender in the league.

Best defender in the league? Kuechly has something to say about that...(troll)
I think the best defender depends on the system. A single dominant DB will not make a defense good if there is no pass-rush, same way a single pass-rusher cannot make a defense good if he does not have a set of DBs who pose a threat. So last year, yes, perhaps he was the best defender in the league, but so was Kuechly as well.

Kuechly's defense didn't lead its team to a championship. So obviously that would make the Seahawks defense the best. You don't build a team to get stats, you build it to win games. The Seahawks defense won more games when they mattered the most. They won the Superbowl. So that would make the leader and best player on that the best defender in the league, at that time.
Last time I checked, football was a team sport not a one on one sport.
The player that is best is the one who is able to contribute to his team's system the most. If, when working with the team's system, a player is able to produce more results than another player with his team's system, the first player is a better player. What each player is able to do in a one on one drill is irrelevant. What that player would be able to do in a different team's system is irrelevant; he is not playing for them.
A player should only be measured on his ability to contribute to his team's success.
Richard Sherman is able to produce outstanding results as a CB for the Seattle Seahawks. That is all that matters, since he plays for the Seahawks.
Regardless, if we want to discuss decisive Seattle defense players:
this argument is stupid. you get players you think can play EXTREMELY well in the system. sherman plays extremely well here. kuechly plays extremely well in what he is asked to do in carolina.nand honestly carolina scares the shit out of me. this year is going to be VERY tough for the hawks. a lot of really hard road games.
also earl thomas is a boss. easily coulda been defensive player of the year. imo should have. but that is a toss up really.

lolz were had. I'm a hater because I bring up PED's right? Isn't that how it works?

Eagles signed this kicker from Vandy, I've never bought a kicker's jersey before but this kid is a monster. All you need to know is his nickname is "Murderleg" , so badass.
"Spear, a built 5-9, 194 pounds, prides himself on being a football player, more so than just a kicker. In his mind, on kickoffs he's supposed to react to what occurs in front of him and try to make a football play, and he won't hesitate to do so. Larry Pinto, his coach at Mayfield High in Ohio, said, "If he wasn't our kicker, he'd probably have been our starting strong safety." James Franklin, Spear's coach at Vanderbilt who's now at Penn State, last week described his former three-time captain as "a football player who happens to kick."
