you could hear a pin drop when his name was called. our window is like 2 years until we need a qb again. if they weren't going to finally pick one then they should have taken a receiver (lee) especially after exposing the need in the emanuel sanders deal

I doubt it. He will probably be good, but not great. Put the right team around him and he may be able to play mistake free football and get the job done.
Ebrons good but the lions really did not need another TE. Fauria did just fine last year, in my opinion, and will continue to grow into a better player if he gets more reps, and if stafford goes to him more often. definitely takes pressure off of CJ, Its a good looking offense for sure, But I defense is detroits biggest concern right now.
I really believe in Bortles. I am biased, I watched him in college because I graduated from UCF and he transformed that team. We were shit before he came, had won I think 1 bowl game before him? After him he won 3 bowl games out of 4 years and one was a BCS game where he out gunned the best offence in college football. Also beat Bridgewater this past year.
I really think he has the mental game to be great and you can look at him and see he is physically gifted to be a high level QB. Arm strength can be fixed, anyone can get stronger. I really think he will be a great QB.
It all depends if he plays right away. I don't think that Jax needs him to play immediately. Henne is a bum, but can hold down the spot. I look at what happened in Seattle as for what I think will happen with Bortles. The team brings in a guy (in this case resigns Henne) to play QB while they develop their draft pick. But Bortles beats him out in Pre Season and proves the doubters wrong.
In the end only time will tell, I just hope he is successful and eventually somehow gets on the Dolphins and wins a super bowl.

I have no faith in Tannehill. He has done better by the numbers every year, but hasn't really taken control of the team the way I would like a QB to. Got a guy like Mike Wallace, couldn't hit the deep ball. To me hes not bad enough to make you want to get rid of him, but hes not good enough to make you excited that hes your QB.

i see bortles as a less mobile Tannehill. I agree he hasn't done anything to wow me. kaepernick, Wilson, Luck, RGIII (sometimes) are all young qb's that in their own unique ways show that guttiness it takes to win the biggest games. Like Tom Brady, Rodgers, and Brees have shown. I see Bortles as a potential Cutler or Sam Bradford. Good enough to start, maybe make the playoffs a few times, not good enough to win Superbowls. Manziel seems to have that spark, the willingness to put the team on his back to win.

If you saw last season you would know Bortles has the willingness to put a team on his back and win too. I think he had 4 or 5 4th quarter comebacks last year? A drive in the final 2 mins to win at least 2 times. That alone is something I've yet to see from the Tannehill. My two teams, UCF and the Dolphins have always found ways to fuck up and lose the end of games. It wasn't until this year that I saw a QB, Bortles, close out a game and get it done.

thissss. sucks for manziel haha. gordon had 3 different sub par qbs throwing to him and he was still the leading wr in the league. with a qb who can scramble like manziel i was looking forward to that duo.
So far what I see for supporting this is a bunch of non Native Americans who think its offensive. I haven't seen one Native American care about the name. Anyone on here Native American who can shed some light on this?
Doubt it. Although I don't think the term is racist or intended to be, I don't see this going away and think you just change it. They were originally the braves, so what's the big deal? Keep the same colors, logos, everything just be the warriors. Also, change the Wizards back to the Bullets and everyone will be happy.

Haden is a fucking monster. He's equal if not better than Sherm.
Personally if I were building a team I would pick Haden over Sherm, I feel he plays better with less talented people around him. Plus he's humble as fuck compared to Sherm.

Federal court in Florida accepts hoax lawsuit against Manziel

APYes, Johnny Manziel technically has been sued for sexual harassment in a Florida federal court.
No, it's not a real lawsuit. It's a hoax. An obvious hoax. A hoax so obvious that the clerk of the court should have refused to dignify it with a date stamp or with an assignment of the case to both a judge and a magistrate.
Courts typically accept whatever comes in, and then they sort it all out later. But it may be time for courts to revisit that approach, given that anyone can put together anything and send it in and have it become officially filed — which gives it a weird sense of credibility and legitimacy, even when it's clearly a hoax.
The lawsuit, which was field on May 16, 2014, was sent to us last night by a reader. The named plaintiff is Samatha Schacher. Whoever drafted the hoax lawsuit has tried to create the impression that it's the same Samantha Schacher who serves as an HLN contributor and co-host of the network's Dr. Drew show. (There's a reference in the lawsuit to Manziel suggesting a "threesome with Dr. Drew.")
Before sharing any specifics from the hoax lawsuit, I need to point out once that it's clearly a hoax.
"Defendant Manziel has been sexually harassing me since Valentine's Day, 2013, calling me non-stop on my Samsung Phone and sending me naked selfies of himself showing me his penis," the lawsuit alleges. (The folks at Samsung may or may not appreciate the gratuitous plug.)
The lawsuit — again, it's a hoax — also claims that Manziel sent a naked picture of himself with his penis in a hotdog bun, that he sent a photo with a "ruler next to his erect penis that measured 4-1/2 inches," that he "keeps asking me to strip for him at his boy, Lebron James' crip [sic] in Miami," that Manziel "told me he does steroids and lifts weights," and that "if another man ever talks to me, he would beat them up and get away with it because he's famous."
The lawsuit — again, hoax — says that Manziel confessed that he cheated on his college exams, that he'll "get a penis enlargement and be my Long John Silvers [sic]," that he smoked marijuana before games in the locker room, that he received "lavish gifts" from Texas A&M, that he'd buy the plaintiff "sex toys with secret money Kevin Sumlin provides him," and that he "refers to his penis as his Vienna Sausage."
The lawsuit — again, hoax — says that "Judereon" Clowney sent Manziel a picture of Clowney's nine-inch penis, and that Manziel showed the picture to the plaintiff and "asked me if I could handle that monster."
"I had to see a Psychologist because I have nightmares of Manziel's penis," the lawsuit — hoax — states. "Manziel sent me a homemade video of himself at Walt Disney World on 'It's a Small Word' ride in the Magic Kingdom, and while the song is on, he puts the camera down unbuttons his pants, pulls his penis out and jingles [sic] his penis to the music. ESPN owns Disney and ESPN promotes Manziel, knowing he did this in 'It's a Small World.'"
Again, the lawsuit is a hoax. It never should have been stamped for filing, and it should be thrown out of court today.
