Having grown up in Boston but currently living in Seattle I can confirm that most Seattle fans can't name anyone on their defense except Richard Sherman. The number of people who claim to be huge Seahawks fans but can't name their starting quarterback is also rather startling.

We were selling out the Kingdome in the 1990s...

In the early 2000s we voted to pay for a new stadium for them, with out naming rights.

Yeah, Seattle fans have been pulling for the hawks in large for more than a minute. Its just that the rest of the country never knew we existed.

I split my CONUS time between the East Coast and WA. Coverage of WA teams is almost nonexistent unless we just won a championship, or are fucking other teams on the reg. Our games start at 10pm for most of the country's population, and end after midnight. Back when people actually read newspapers, they were printed and out for delivery before a score could be reported.
Seattle has been rooting for the Hawks en-mass for over 20 years that I've been paying attention, the rest of the country just never knew about it.

This rookie receiver is eating the Bird's DB's with those double moves. Eagles secondary has been an issue for almost a decade since Dawkins, Bobby Taylor, Troy VIncent, etc. left. Biggest hole on the team by far and it's showing early. Getting attacked downfield consistently. Which is terrible because the front 7 is balling.

I don't know about attendance numbers in the 90s, I do know that the hand full of games I went to were packed and loud, and those that I didn't go to were not blacked out on TV, all with a team that flat out sucked.
