Living in Sochi would be kinda cool.

In the summer there's the sea and mothafuckin' PALM TREES and shit everywhere. Tropical paradise.

Then in the winter... well, they're hosting the Winter Olympics which shows the mountain quality there. Pretty sure skiing is 40 minutes from the shore.

This sounds super dope. The only place I can think of that comes close in the U.S. would be Los Angeles, but that's hours to decent skiing (Mammoth). What other places in the world are like this?

Christ. This is a skiing website. Have you guys seen the terrain at Rosa Khutor? With all the infrastructure from the Olympics there are bound to be some cheap places to live. Skiing those mountains for a season would be amazing.

Yeah, obviously Russia overall sucks. But that doesn't mean that it isn't worth it to live in a shitty country to get to ski some of the best mountains in the world.

Living there would suck. That whole area is pretty unstable most of the time, being close to Chechnya and the middle east. The place looks all nice and safe now, at least the parts they show on TV. I bet the place sucks everywhere outside of the Olympic areas. And you would probably get pink eye like Bob Costas

I believe they stored snow from last winter in some glaciers high up in the mountains but I don't know if they needed it tho
