True, I do feel bad for him, especially after all the high expectations and hype. But hey, he didn't do a single qualifier so maybe the US Freeskiing should've have considered he wasn't completely healed, like they obviously had no problem doing with Wallisch!
How's the general vibe out there wi the athletes? These conditions blow and I feel like they're all pissed, can't imagine doing quals for the Olympics rn
It's funny how the Swedish commentators keeps saying that Mike Riddle was the one who won the test event in Sochi, but I'm pretty sure that was Torin and not Mike.
The vibe out here is a shrug of the shoulders. What are you gonna do? They're not going to postpone the comp unless it gets so foggy that the judges can't see runs.
Way to go for the #teenagetriplethreat. Luckily blunck squeezed in, I wonder how he handled with nerves of not knowing if his score would held up with the entire field yet to drop.
Luckily the weather holds like at the end of qualifiers, then the finals will be crazy.
the weather is as bad or worse than it looks on TV. it went from dumping fat flakes, to rain, back to snow, back to rain. bottom of the pipe is fucked. Margetts said switch riding out there is damn near impossible.
he almost stomped his run, and it would have definetly been up there in the scores, you have to get over wallisch
with the way you're thinking maybe they shouldn't have taken Lyman, he fell both runs, maybe he wasn't ready
Go tell Putin to shoot some of his weather control lasers into the sky or something. At $51 bil, they have to have some wacky shit we don't know about.
Lyman earned his spot, so he deserved to be there. As for Torin, he was really close to landing that run which for sure would have earned him a spot on the finals. Regarding his spot on the team, as much as I wanted him to go to the Olympics as well as I did with Wallisch, he didn't earn it. I'm sure Gus would've made finals for sure cause he's too good handling with pressure, but then again, Torin was there and he had a bit of bad luck in not landing that 10.
I can't decide if I think that the Slope contest was better because slopestyle is inherently more exciting, or if its mainly due to the fact that weather was perfect for slope and horseshit for pipe.
Of course it is, and I rather watch Torin over Gus skiing pipe cause the dude is probably the best pipe skier of the world. All I'm saying is that he WAS ready to be there for sure, but bad luck got in his way. My biggest problem is that I'm a justice kind of guy, so I think Ferreira or gus should be there as much as I know Joss deserved to be there!
