practice on small knuckles and bumps, try to put more and more weight on your tips, it'll help you pop around! I like to envision myself doing a switch 180 down a drop, to make sure i get enough weight forward after the butter to make sure I don't land backseat.
Yeah, I spent a lot of time on rollers trying to learn them, but I was having trouble with the switch 180 part of the rotation coming out of the butter, is the simple solution to just use more force during the butter?
The more you pop, the easier it will get to get back to proper landing position. If you do them to your left, try and use your right hand, imagine you wanna grab your left nose, then to point where you want to land. Might be bad explanation or tip, but might help, haha, sorry.. i find this kind of hard to explain in English! good luck, they are fun when you get the hang of it
What I did when I started was just buttering (note how it isn't nose buttering) to 180 then popping off the ground and doing the last 180 in the air. It isn't a true nose butter 360, but it helps you get the feel for the trick. Once you get that down then do the same thing except put your weight onto your nose and it clicks very easily.
if you have trouble with the last 180 try doing it on a small kicker instead of rollers. it'll give you some more pop and a bit more time to bring it around
At least when I do them, there's a point where you feel like you get a ton of pop off the lip while you're sliding around. That's when I know to pop and get the actual spinning part going. Also, go faster.
Practice leaning forward and getting on your tips so your can easily get your hands on the ground. Practice balancing there. Then start doing that down the hill (obviously switch
). Do that until you don't need to use your hands and do it with ease. You'll then have no problem doing true butters. Good luck
what skis are you riding? because i know my morphics are very hard to butter on but when i rode jj's and line TC's i could nose butter 3 so much easier
yeah try carving in on your preferred side, pop onto your tips as you 180 and instead of looking at your tips keep your head on the landing and that will help you rotate around, also it helps if you're doing it off step up jumps or steeper landings to get more air time
alright cool, the problem is I'm on some of the shortest skis of all time (147cm, I'm 5'9) so there's really not much ski to land and butter on... at least I can spin fast with no swing weight
woah shit, you're pretty much the same size as me and i ride, 171-185, (171 for my morphics, 178 for TC and 185 for jj's) that's crazy i couldn't even imagine skiing skis so small, but having skis that small you should be able to shift your weight around it fairly easy, also what boots are you using cause the stiffer the boot the harder the butters are
My favorite trick. Believe it or not just sling it. You'll eat shit all the time but don't worry. Its really easy to tell if your gonna get it around. You will feel your body rotating off the lip and if you are not spinning fast enough you will be able to tell.
