It's Presidents Break Week. How Are You Surviving?
My tramp session was pretty much empty. Five people over three trampolines, it was perfect.
(Even though I'm british, everyone here has this week off. At least the kids do. Even history students do. Chemistry have never given anyone a week off in all of time :/.)
I heard it was packed. I remember working there when it was parked down the access road, down whatever road is below that all the way to the stop sign and to the mill or whatever and people were parking there.
The top is generally not bad. When it's too crowded stay on straightbrook, darkside or the north quad.
I experience something every holiday weekend as the gaper explosion. Allow me to define this event:
Gaper explosion might be confused with the great eastern migration (see citation 1 for this definition), however, the great gaper explosion is when said gaper on the hill happens to not only just wreck, but completely lose everything on their person. This can range from and include anything from the following - Goggles dating pre 95' (older than most of you here), poles, skis, helmets, hats, beanies, scarves, sunglasses. Now often times due to the nature of the gaper, their equipment isn't held on the highest due to their lack of inability to ski(which is why they are skiing this weekend anyways). This directly correlates to their explosive nature of the wreck. See here in the following clip @ 40sec -
also this fine specime:
Citation 1: The Great Eastern Migration is defined as the time when the east coast moves out to the west coast during their vacation times in the winter to take part of the better snow/ mountains out here. This greatly affects areas such as Colorado, Utah, Parts of California, BC, Wyoming, Montana, and Washington. Typically this occurs 3 times the first being in the Christmas Time when every family and their little shits' are all running amuck for a few weeks, the second is usually president's day weekend, and finally their ski break or spring break that they have.
Jay peak on Friday was the best day of skiing of my life. 21" came down and there was endless pow with no lines. Saturday and Sunday were complete clusterfucks, I've never seen so many gapers
I quit early today. Really wasn't that crowded but pretty sure I dun got the flu. Somehow survived the last 4 days feeling like, death but just couldn't pull it off today. I think the sunshine was the only thing keeping me going. Take that away and donezo.
