If you're really gonna be safe about it, wait until you have a pow day, make a wicked poppy booter with a decent amount of air time and chuck them into powder. Or just go to your mountain and fling them off the lip of a kicker. Whatever works for you
As long as you can do them on a tramp, and the feeling of committing to throwing your head back is familiar, you will be fine. Pow would be preferable, but as soon as you do it once you will realize how easy it is and it will be fuckin cake from there on out.
I did my first one last summer at Windells. I would suggest first trying it in the backyard off a really kicky jump. You want to throw your hips forward as hard as you can and the commit. If you don't commit, you've practically asked to get hurt. I would say try it into the airbag if you don't have a hill at your to make a jump.
