This year, I did the ski racing team at my school just to get more skiing in, go to the park when ever I can. I HIGHLY recommend it to anybody who can ski. Although you look like a gaper, there is one upside, racer babes. So many good looking girls who love freestyle guys. Make sure you tell them you do freestyle though. Cause if you dont, they will think you are just a racer and it's tough to get ladies like that.
I HIGHLY recommend racing to NS. The problem with park skiing is that many of the riders CANNOT really ski. Racing will get you to become a better skier and even more important, a real skier. Oh and the babes.
My park skier crew and i all race. The funny thing is we dont take it seriously: we sign in for practice and then dip out to the park, wear tall ts and baggy pants over our gs suits and ski park until we race. Yea as a coach myself I can verify it's very frustrating to be passionate about coaching kids when the kids don't give a shit.
(warning) you may not be able to do that if you have a mean coach like i did in fact you may get yelled at for everything you do which make ski team not fun at all but go for it and hope your coach isn't a fun nazi
I ski park and race. Racing has improved my skiing quite a bit and its a lot of fun if you don't take it too seriously. Everyone looks at me really weird when I cross the finish line sitting on the backs of my skis though.
