Spring training is underway so it's time to talk baseball again. Talk about trades, games, how much you hate baseball, or really anything. Like usual the cardinals are going to win it all this year.
Lynn has be really inconstant even through spring training. Hoping he can pull himself out of this hole and get back on the plate with a solid mind.
On the upside, Yadi and Bourjos could become a new power team. Stoked to see how Bourjos works with the team, I think he'll do good in STL. Ther's no doubt he talked to Pujols about the club.
Damnit, the Braves' offense is dreadful. 1 and 2 hitter are both below .500, 15 runs in 7 games, worst in the bigs. At least the starting pitching has been a real nice surprise after all the injuries in spring training. Oh well, her's to hoping they get the bats going sooner than later.
No, I just mean like.. holy shit. The amount of money and focus on this ONE kid is like a billion times more than the rest, that's all I'm saying. I think what they're doing for him is fucking INCREDIBLE. I'm just thinking of the rest of the children who don't get this awesome of treatment CONSTANTLY as he has.
Is Gomes really an everyday player for you guys? He was outfield platoon at best for us a couple years back. I mean... we let him go and now you're throwing him behind papi?

no hes still a platoon guy. farrell loves him though. he did have some really huge hits for us last year. he batted like 240 but with two outs and risp he hit like 500 or something absurd. nava, carp and gomes all sort of rotate in the outfield with carp and nava playing first base occasionally. nava definitely gets the most playing time of that group though
CONAIR_BUSCEMIWell the Red Sox can’t hit for shit.
nope, theyre awful. that 13 inning game (or whatever it was) was the worst baseball game ive seen in years. red sox couldnt get a hit and white sox couldnt throw a strike. pathetic
Xanadoowent to the Red Sox A's game today. Lester was unconsciously good. 15 Ks, 2 walks, 1 hit & 0 runs through 8. Sox pen almost blew it though
Yeah, on top of that, especially in the early game against right handers, he was getting such a wide zone on his slider from the ump... Coco Crisp was furious over it.
regardless, I'm so fucking over Dan Straily and Tommy Milone's suckfest to start this season. Hanging everything, not even getting near 90 on their fastballs, not locating pitches right... so frustrating to watch.
Sooo missing Parker and Griffin this year. Probably going to be our downfall this season, honestly - and being that this is Parker's 2nd TJ surgery, you can just about stick a fork in him. Fucking huge bummer. All of our starting pitching depth that we rely on so bad is gone and here it's barely March.

At least Kaz and Sonny are killin it.
Sonny Gray is special man. that kid is gonna be a real good baseball player. i mean he already is but hes just gonna keep getting better.
who was the ump behind the plate yesterday? certain umps have wider strike zones than others. its impossible to tell balls and strikes when youre in the stands so i didnt really notice. even if he was getting the benefit of a couple calls dude was still on fire. the A's only made solid contact off him like 3 times in 8 innings and the only hit Lester gave up was a dying quail that was perfectly placed. easily couldve been a no hitter

He was extremely good, no doubt. Everything was over the plate and I dont' think he got behind in the count more than maybe twice in 8 innings.
Early innings though, he'd constantly throw a down and away slider as his out-pitch to right handers that was was about 4-6" out of the zone. It was Verlander-esque. He stopped getting that by about inning 4, but the damage was done.
After that he started just going in on everyone and anything was a filthy breaking ball low and inside on the corner. His heater was also moving like a bitchass and his changeup dropped like it gained 100lbs by the time it made it to the plate.

ok. yeah like i said i havent seen highlights and couldnt really see where the pitches were from where i was sitting. i could see up and down but not in and out.
Lester's cutter is filthy. its so tough to be a really successful pitcher in fenway as a lefty just cause the left field wall is so damn short. but Lester's cutter is really what allows him to be the exception to the rule. when he gets it in on the hands of right handed hitters they cant extend to take advantage of the short porch. and then he's got that curve that he can drop on lefties and righties
sox need to get an extension done with this guy already. im gonna be pissed if they let him walk
DingoSeanAlso, fuck John Lackey's bitch ass face, I hope he gets punched again so hard that he Derezzes like he's in Tron.
Fucking cunt, I hope he dies. Sorry Boston, but I loathe him.
he does have one of those faces you just want to punch. i know i did when he pitched like a sack of shit for the first half of his contract in boston. glad he got it together finally and started pitching like a human instead of a sack of shit last year

A's are probably going to lose the first one so hard... Dan Straily is AAAA garbage and facing Felix Hernandez. The 2nd one will likely blow too as the A's don't have a true spot starter now that the depth we had is being rotated in from Parker and Griffin going down. Bullpen game!...?
