Hey guys Im looking for a new pair of skis for next season and am thinking about the apo Kai pro, anyone have any experience with this skis and are they true to size?
I have the Kai's and they are such a weird ski. They are listed to not have any camber, but they have about as much camber as line chronics (rough estimate) and probably a little less.
The ski is stiffer in the nose (6-7.5) the waist is probably an 8 and the tail is a 4.5-5 for flex. the ski is uber snappy and you can really feel yourself get pushed out of an ollie or nollie. decently light and sick swingweight. awesome on rails but they do have a different feel for whatever reason to my Ace of Spades for actually sliding the rail. Its a lttle less controlled for me, although I did get used to it.
They are fast enough to compare to my Ace's, they carve just as well too, which is probably the most surprising thing about them, and overall they rip all mtn. they actually get some nice feel in the pow and you can pull off some pow butters. terrible in the moguls for whatever reason though. I compete in moguls and they are godawful in them and I am not sure why. I guess skinny rocker skis are bad in the moguls.
They hold up perfectly fine on jumps and snap you back up if you land tail heavy and such. Super fun on jumps and have a nice feel to them in the air.
Overall, I definitely recommend these skis to anyone that wants a playful ski that can still hold its own on any feature in the park. If you have anymore questions, feel free to PM me since i didnt go into much detail cuz i gotta go hit the east coast pow up atm.
