Replying to A kid showed a gore clip during his presentation at my school today
So today in American lit class we were presenting projects that where supposed to demonstrate our knowledge of satire. Some kids made political cartoons, wrote satirical essays, someone even did a parody of cops. However one of the kids decided it would be a good idea to create a "movie showing a saterization of clinical depression." He made a movie maker video of what he called the 5 elements of depression: bi-polar, drug abuse, staying inside, sadness, and cutting. The video started off alright with a video of a happy baby that started crying for bi-polar, a family guy clip etc. However, for his clip related to cutting he spliced in the clip of the guy slicing his back open with a machete. I am not sure how to feel about this. Our teacher started crying, a few girls ran outside, some of the boys started laughing. I still can't believe he wasn't suspended on the spot for it,but what does NSG think? Honestly I'm a bit disturbed by it (not the first gore I've seen, but the setting and the fact I wasn't expecting it made it much worse) but I'm curious if I'm overreacting. Is OP a bundle of sticks? should i be banned? Should I fight the kid?
