You know what? I think it's more that Goepper came around on us.
I don't buy that robot steeze thing anymore. He heard the criticism and he adjusted. He's MUCH better than he used to be. Is he Delorme? Fuck no, he's not Wallisch, either. But he's much, much smoother than he used to be and much more idiosyncratic in the way he skis. He's sort of carved out a style that is competition-focused, but nonetheless unique.
People need to recognize that when you're that goddamn GOOD, you can probably figure out a way to do your tricks more smoothly rather than focusing on squeezing in an extra 180. Nick has done that and deserves props for it.
And you can count me among the people who think his "bronze" run was the best slope run in the history of the sport.
