This is a thread where you can share your favorite "Håtveit-moments". Big ups on his 4th place today, we sure will miss him.. What a great skier. Thanks for the ten years you've spent making freeskiing so damn awesome.
That time he wasn't having a good time and supporting everyone around him and being the most positive person on the planet.
Wait .. THAT'S never happened! This guy is awesome, always positive, kind and amazingly talented .. first to drop in the pipe switch and do legit big down the pipe spins, crazing in air follow cams with his brother, that hip session back in PBP. Can't say enough about this guy HE RULES!
Seriously Andreas has been one of the front figures in pushing the sport forward the last decade. And he just kept on getting better, those TGP edits that he dropped last season are seriously the sickest technical rail skiing to be shown on the face of this earth. I am sad to watch him go, but I cant wait to see what kind of movie segments he can put out now.
We've all seen the videos of him slaying rails in his backyard park, but here's some jump footage. Wish I had a jump big enough to double in my backyard.
Also I'd like to mention his trick tip videos. They weren't your shitty "spin and commit hurr durr" videos - he actually explained the mechanics of the tricks and the specific body motions involved. Link if anyone is interested:
hes a super cool dude. road tripped to the xgames in '08 with my roomy. we were watching the slope warm ups, we were pretty much the only ones there, and andreas came up to us and just b.s.ed with during the entire thing. He was really cool and a super nice guy. And then we watched him win the slopestyle later that day
Andreas is the first guy who did a switch down the pipe 1080 and got no love for that and it was in 2006! first try stomp during xgames super pipe finale
Sad to see him leave the comp scene but really impressive of him to land a 4th place in the olympics, not a bad way to end your career! Hopefully he will continue to drop a few sick edits from time to time! A true legend to our sport no doubt!
Definitely will always be one of my favorite rides. style for days, slays on the rails, and always in a good mood. Look at him at this years winter X. 3rd place and he's beyond stoked even though he's done better many times before
The irony in him getting 4th... He must have the most 4th places of any freeski athlete EVER, it seems like he almost always misses out on the podium by just that much
those switch 10 lead tails he used to do were so fucking awesome.
one of my favorite skier ever, always fun to watch him ski. he s got the style and the tech.
wasnt he the first one to do an unatural dub cork too ?
i remember always looking forward to his parts in the movies. crazy follow cams etc...
nothing but respect and admiration for him, and in the last 10 years i have never ever heard anything negative about him, not even on newschoolers. That probably says a lot.
After his final run he said that he want to build the 2022 olympic slopestyle course, if Oslo, Norway gets the games. And he said it would be the best slope ever.
How about ending his comp career with a great season and a huge smile, rather than by wrecking his body to the point that he can't physically do it anymore. too rare in this sport i think.
Not only is he a great skier, his attitude is always positive. When he was waiting to get the score at the bottom of the run, he was beaming and he looked like he agreed with the score and couldn't be happier to be competing
I don't get why ns is hating so much on this...of course Hatveit is a fucking legend, and tbh his spins (can't remember how many, like 1260?) are really hard to throw down on big kickers like those...
But still overscored, he was even pretty mind blown when he saw his score after his first run. It just shows that the judges don't really know how to judge thats all. Still super stoked for him cos I really think thats an awesome way to top his career, and he defo deserves it.
Love him and definitely am going to miss his presence in the completions! Most humble, joyous guy out there. Wish he could've podiumed in the Olympics too! Legend for sure!
why are you saying that i can't say that he was the first one? were you there in 2006 in aspen when andreas stomped the first ever switch 1000 in the pipe? i was there and as usual andreas was so stoked that he made me try that switch 1000 too but landed straight on my ass.
Andreas is the fucking man and never really got love for everything he did, he does and still doing
