Can You Dye Snowpants?

So I got the zissou fatigues and didn't like the blue. Is there anyway I could dye the pants black or some other color without destroying them?

the waterproofing will prevent the dye from reaching the fabric, and its nylon/polyester or something like that which wouldnt take the dye well. if you do try something and it somehow works, the waterproofing will be completely shot
