The first trick is a tie, because Joss also did a lipslide disaster, which ups the tech level. Both were clean. The pretz 4 gains in technicality because of how low tha down rail actually is. Gotta spin fast as fuck to make it around, while a 270 looked pretty comfortable.
Second feature: a sw on to front 4 is not a pretzel, so I assume you're talking about the down rail. A superfed involves a "pretzel switch up" so I'd say it's pretty even with a 2 on pretz 2. A cork 7 bonk beats a continuing 450 every day, so imo Nick wins this by a landslide.
Next feature: Joss does a continuing front cork 450 out, not a 630. If it was a 630 he would have landed backwards, since he did the 180 before and came on switch. I give Nick a slight advantage on this feature because misty 630s after spinning onto a high, flat feature like that are crazy hard, whilst a cannon is basically made to cork off. Also, Joss could basically just ride onto that cannon, which cancels out the 180 before. But again, this is just my opinion.
Jump 1: Both had amplitude and perfect landings. I prefer Joss' style, but I think the unnatural dub 12 should be scored higher in a comp. a tail grab is still technical and people have been doing octograbs and dub japans in dub 12s for years (I thought his grab looked like a combination of the two. Could it be a High dub Japan with crossed skis?).
Jump 2: As you said, Nick wins by a great margin, and In my opinion he has a decent lead up to this point. There is nobody
Jump 3: Unless Joss can do a better switch triple 12 to the left this isn't really unnatural, just rightside. I personally spin right naturally when I go switch and left when I go forwards. I have a friend that does misties to the right all day long but can't land them to the left, even though he usually spins that direction. Thus, the question is: Should a regular switch triple 12 safety beat a regular triple cork 14 mute to dub japan by so much that it makes up for the daylight that has accumulated between the riders this far?
I personally think it shouldn't. Nobody has done the trick that Goepper did, with his grab combo. A bunch of people have done sw triple 12 safeties. Hell, the first one was thrown by Sammy years ago. Since then I've seen them thrown by McRae, Dane Tudor and Jesper Tjader. As to how inverted the tricks were: I don't think the judges should look too much at that, since both of them were clearly corked. How inverted you should go is mainly a question of style, which as we all know is subjective. I like seeing both wobbles and flips, don't know why people have a problem with the latter. Everybody loves HH:s dub underflips and people who claim that today's triple corks like like aerials must have a problem with their eyes, or just never actually seen an aerials competition.
I can understand that Joss got the win, but I personally think that the judges made a mistake. The margins are very slim, though. All in all I guess I have to agree with the previous comment stating that skiing was the true winner yesterday!
TL;DR Arguments can be made in Goepper's favor, but they can be made in Joss' favor too. We'll just have to get over it. I'm happy for Joss, who's had a really rough year. He came out of nowhere and fucking slayed. Extra props to Nick for handling the pressure so well.
