This was the highest level slopestyle comp of all time. The judges did okay in the finals, except for the fact that they got the podium backwards.
Nick's run:
switch two pretz 4, cork 7 nosetap, superfed, sw 2 misty 6 (dub?) japan, unnatty dub 12 tail, switch dub 9 screamin dub genie grab, triple 14 mute to dub japan. All of them fucking stomped!
Gus' run:
2 cont 2 (I think), switch on back 4 out, switch 2 pretz 2, switch 4 cont 4 safety on wallride, dub 16 tail, switch right dub 10 japan and switch triple 14 japan. All of them fucking stomped!
Joss' run:
sw lip 2 pretz 2, front 4, 180 to switch on front cork 4 safety out of cannon, dub 12 dub grab (octo? tweaked dub japan?), switch dub 10 tail, switch unnatural triple cork 12 safety. All of them fucking stomped!
Kenworthy's and Christensen's runs would have been the best slopestyle runs in history unless Goepper had stomped his. I honestly called 98 when Goepper landed his triple, then figured the judges would have to score everybody else way too low to keep it fair. What the hell were they thinking? The style argument doesn't work here, because Nick had the best style (imo) and most creativity. Also he got a fucking triple grab in his triple, so I would consider that hit the second most technical jump in skiing (nosebutter triple 16 being the most tech). Technicality should've decided the winner today, because all of the top 4 guys were flawless.
All in all, I guess the Olympics delivered. Stoked!
