The French judge, Rafael Regazzoni just posted this on his Facebook:
”Here we go, big day for Freeski history. Thanks to Johnny Mosseley, JF Cusson, Dorion, JP Auclair, Candide Thovex, Tanner Hall, CR Johnson, Pep Fujas, Dave Crichton, The 3 Phil, Seth Morisson, Jon Olsson, Mick Deschenaux, Simon Dumont, Laurent Favre, Chris Turpin, MA Beliveau, Lars Veen, Eric Pollard, Sarah Burke, Eric Iberg, and many more for creating such a cool sport. We have been working a lot to prepare this day and whatever u like or not the Olympics It's time to show the World what is our sport and how fun this is (cause it's all about it at the end, HAVING FUN). I hope for the best to all the guys out there! Judging might be good or could go wrong today but we are gonna take as much time as we need to make the right call for the sport and hopefully we will do it right for every side of our community. Hope we won't disappoint you. ONE LOVE!”
Well… doing it right ”for every side of our community.” Tough one. Can only wish for the best.
Jacob Wester – who decided to stay out of the Olympics despite making it into the Swedish team and today will see his brother Oscar compete – nailed it down pretty nicely on his blog:
”Last but not least, if anything, tomorrow’s contest is by far the most important moment for slopestyle skiing’s future. I obviously have people I am rooting for, but if there ever was a contest where creativity and outside-the-box thinking should get rewarded, it’s this one. May the judges do the right thing!”
Only 2 hours and 40 minutes to go now...
