its kind of assumed. Almost anywhere has cheap bars, and the towns that are small and rich enough to NOT have cheap bars are generally already too rich. Like Aspen.

Bozeman fits your needs perfectly.

Already spent a year there, but yeah its pretty prime. I guess im wondering more if some of the lesser mentioned places are worth it? Nelson, Rossland, Revelstoke, even Mammoth or Hood River. Not the Park City's, Bozeman's and Jackson's of the world.

sooo Hood River MIGHT MAYBE KINDA make a decent run on a few of your points:

-you can expect to rent a room for $400-$700 a month
-it's 35-40 miles to t-line/shredows (so there goes your 2 hour drive)
-there are decent jobs here but you need to have customer service experience
-there are usually consistent 'dumps'

there's a ton going on here for outdoor recreation and the town has a pulse...the columiba gorge has a lot to offer

leavenworth (stevens pass) could be done too it's similar to hood river, but the housing situation is a mess there.

Yeah i really tried for about 6 months to move to Rossland. It wasn't happening. But im sure if you try long enough you can get it and find a way up there.

Leavenworth was a good suggestion, and it has dope ass mountain biking which is a good bonus. Stevens is kind of a lame place to dedicate a whole season living at though, not that its bad, i guess id just be more into touring.

stevens has fantastic sidecounty/touring options WAY better than hood....you just need to know the right people to show you around..wenatchee bowl/fleur du lis/tunnel creek/lichenstein/grace lakes/hollywood... if you want specifics PM me.

Yea Park City is gonna be too expensive with price of living etc… but Salt Lake on the other hand, is not. Dirt cheap apartments and you got Snowbird, Alta, Solitude and Brighton all within spitting distance of each other.

Salt Lake or Reno fit these needs pretty well. Plenty of things to do year round and easy access to the mountains.
