Ski wax?

alright so, ive heard that if you wax your own skis, for the best wax job you let them sit overnight, then scrape and brush them that morning.
also, is it bad to do a hotscrape with just your normal wax? i use just normal hydrocarbon to do my normal waxing.
and is it possible to wax your skis too much? ( as long as your not burning your base with the iron)

As long as the wax is cool you don't need to wait overnight. Hot scrapes are great, but they clean debris out of your base, so you have to do a real wax after a hot scrape. U

And no, wax as much as you want, don't use base cleaner if you a avoid it

If you are using a Hydro Carbon wax you can not wax too much, if you are using wax with Fluoro it is possible to over wax, how much no one really knows the skis all of sudden just don't glide like they should. You can use a a special wax remover like Holmenkol's Nano CFC remover that only cleans out the fluro's and does not effect the paraffin on the base. Just make sure your iron never touches the base with no wax on it

you can wax to much but that will only make your skis sticky for the first few runs. I usually overwax my skis anyway because I would rather have to much than not enough. As for leaving it overnight you don't have to as long as the wax has cooled but some waxs do take longer to cool than others

That's just not true. Waxing too much or too frequently does not lead to sticky skis as long as you are scraping and brushing properly.
