I just figured that with snowboard slopestyle getting underway tonight, that an Olympic thread discussing results, judging, etc. was necessary. I know there are a lot of random ones discussing other things elsewhere, but might as well put it all in one place!
A few things I've noticed tonight are that the commentating for the snowboard qualifiers is horrible. The guy doesn't know how to call any tricks and every rotation is a cork. The commentator also mentioned something along the lines of, "a lot of rotation, but no flips, so that will probably hurt his score". Hopefully this isn't alluding to what we all feared. Scoring also seemed to me to be a little flimsy and the judges are all over the place.
With the negatives being said, the course did turn out great and it looks like the conditions are decent today. Hopefully the commentator just gets a little more fluent in calling tricks as the week goes on.
