FKS heel piece problem

Okay guys, it looks like i cracked the plastic base plate thingy on the heel piece of my 14s. My dad says that it doesn't really serve a very important function, but i get the notion that that black plastic piece is the brake, is that the brake and would i be fine just epoxying the small crack and not having to replace the brake?

Also i saw in that same heel piece, there seems to be a fracture in the heel right below the din window, but once again my dad said that it won't really do anything as it is just sort of there for extra protection, is epoxy going to fix it or will warranty cover it? Thanks!

Also one last question, i don't want to warranty mid season as the process will most likely take 6 weeks and I'm going to a friends to ski next weekend, is rossis warranty like everybody else's as in you will have to send back the whole set and not just the broken heel? Thanks.

P.S I am not to familiar with the fks so sorry if these are basic questions.

knowing this site, i think the only answer you're gonna get is, "Just throw some epoxy on that bitch and its good to go".

I had to warranty my FKS's just the other week, took them 1 week flat for the shop to send em, get the new ones, and then put them on my skis. Won't take 6 weeks. I do not have enough technical knowledge however to comment on your epoxy repair ideas.

But really i busted a Toe Wing out of my Pivot 14s this year and it was chewed up from the ejection (bout my 5th day on snow) sent pics to the company and they asked me to ship them the bindings so they could determine weather it was covered by warranty. Course the warranty clearly states: "The warranty covers defects in workmanship or materials, NOT ABUSIVE USE. ROCK DAMAGE, ABUSED PRODUCTS, AND NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR WILL NOT BE COVERED."
So basically the fact i was riding park and had damaged the bindings paint and plastic in other places, meant i would have to unmount my brand new chronics, send my shit away for two weeks, and most likely be denied warranty.
Instead i took a razorblade to the toewing where it was gnarled, cut off the excess and superglued it into place. Held up Another 15 solid days through my chronics snapping and tons of jibs/tricks before a totally seperate toe wing failed.
Needless to say im not buying Look anymore... But the point was you can usually fix your own shit effectively, if your willing to sacrifice a little bit of safety

if your really concerned go to a local ski shop and tell them what happen they will probably just end up hooking you up with a new one

but if not just epoxy that bitch and its good to go

yeah they got jammed on the underside of a box (with rail supports). so jumped on 180, slid switch skislide for maybe a second before i tried to pull it back up and get 90 on the thing. And then i was upsidedown and my left ski was stuck into it and broken. woulda taken a picture before i pulled it out there were just too many people still trying to hit the box.

OP you need to either write out a better description of what you're talking about or figure out how to post pics. Your google drive is blocked and is a horrible way to share pics in the first place. Privately upload them to NS and embed.
