CVS to stop selling cigarettes and other tobacco

Article says they will sacrifice 2 billion in sales by doing this.

"We’ve come to the decision that cigarettes have no place in an environment where healthcare is being delivered.”"

Everybody is focusing on the assumption that CVS is trying to stop everyone from smoking. No, this isn't what they're doing at all. From what I can gather, it is strictly moral based. By selling tobacco products they are knowingly enabling people with cancer causing products. Will any of the people who previously bought from CVS stop using tobacco? Probably a fraction of a percent of those people will. That is not the point however, CVS wants to make their stores a place that supports a healthy lifestyle. They will take a pretty big hit financially, but also gain a few customers who support what they are doing along the way.

HAHAHAHAHAHA hey they are a business like any other and can do what they want. Good for them making a stand for what they believe. In the interest of public health though?? To each their own.
