great game today. i watched pretty much the whole thing at work. really intense, and i think the better team won. canada had a ton of zone time on the us and tons of quality chances. definitely one to remember. lets hope we can keep it up against the swedes!

good luck usa in the bronze game. i definitely feel like they deserve a medal for how well they've played. even though it's not the one they wanted, a podium finish at the olympics is nothing to scoff at.

I was thinking the same thing - it would be awesome to see a best of 7 between those teams

It was such a frustrating game to watch from a U.S. perspective yesterday, that's what it must feel like to play against the bruins. That was definitely a claude julien special yesterday, the layered defense of Can was just too much for the U.S to try and overcome, they had very limited offensive zone possession due to the swarming defense

This is some bullshit. It's in Toronto that they make the decision whether bars can serve alcohol at 7am for the hockey game tomorrow. They're allowing Toronto bars to serve, but they're refusing to let Ottawa bars serve. What is this shit. Let's start a riot.

im really impressed by finland right now. they have that #41 who skates like the wind. teemu is just a legend and will always be the teemu we know and love. and defensively, the fins look really calm and have a good system that they stick with.

im sure usa will break out at some point here though. they just have too many good players to be shut down 2 games in a row.

on the first one it had to be taken by a player on the ice. not sure if oshie was. and im not sure about the rule with the second (the slash to kane). but it was his breakaway any way. and kane is usually pretty damn good in those situations. it's just not working right now for the states...

Hindsight is 20/20. Who would you have rather taken the shot? Keep in mind it needed to be someone on the ice at the time of the penalty.

Kane is tied for the most shootout goals in the nhl this year....

I would have put Kane in on the penalty too. Nobody else better on the ice. It just sucks that he isn't getting it done. Second time I don't know who was out there but if you don't let Kane take the second shot he now has less confidence than he did before.

Ah I read your post as saying you wouldn't have put kane in. Both kesler and parise were out there for the penalties I believe. Neither one have been particularly good in shootouts

for team usa, that was just a disgrace. After they went down 2-0, they just gave up.

flu. they had to put in lehtonen, who still did very well, but sadly isn't quite tuuka rask. people were thinking that if he had been in that 2-1 loss might have been different, but who knows.

either way, finland showed up and played like it was a gold medal game and showed so much emotion. i love that. they seem like a great group of guys who were so proud to be there. and you can't wish better things upon a better guy than teemu. class act, high quality player. it's nice to see him go out with a bang.
