Right hahah, bout as exciting as woman's hockey gets. Should be a good game, hopefully the US women step up and play like they have been against other teams and get some well deserved redemption

Not so much the case with men's hockey, but I feel like women's hockey is just a glorified Canada/USA grudge match and has been ever since it was introduced. Has any other country ever made/come close to making the gold medal game?

(Feel free to correct me. I don't follow hockey at all)

You can stream on NBC.com and clear cache every 30 minutes to keep watching. That's the best quality stream I know of.

if anything, russia was one of the teams id expect to get a medal. poor datsyuck, probably one of his last chances to ever get an olympic medal.

Going back a few days, but this one is bugging me. Shot goes on top of Tuuka's net, Rick Nash bounces it off the net, off Tuuka's back and in.

It was called no goal because of a high stick.

How on earth is that a high stick? High sticking occurs when the puck makes contact with the stick above the crossbar. Now, maybe Nash touched the puck, and maybe he just hit the net, but let's assume he touched the puck. How could contact possibly be above the crossbar? The netting is attached to the crossbar. At its absolute highest, it's at the same level as the crossbar, not above. Really, it's probably a bit below, because the weight of the puck causes the net to sag.

That was a brutal no-goal call. Really hope nothing similar happens now that we're into the elimination games.

kinda shitty that USA and Canada would be playing in the semis if we both win these games. I would much prefer a US/Canada gold medal match. Nothing beats that.

Yea that would be great to see a rematch from 2010. With Russia out is anyone on the other side good enough to really challenge USA or Canada in a gold medal match? (assuming of course both teams make it to the semis)

But is Finland or Sweden good enough to really challenge USA or Canada (assuming they both make it out of this round) in a gold medal match? I haven't watched Finland much and have heard Sweden is a contender.
