the disallowed goal was kind of goofy. i mean, if the goal doesn't count, shouldn't it at least be a penalty? to somebody? it's delay of game. you can't just have a goalie knocking the net off every time somebody winds up for a shot. if they feel a player knocked it ajar, he should get a penalty. if it was the goalie, the goalie gets a penalty. but to have play just continue, disallow a goal, and continue on after seems really strange to me.
but i do like the rule. international nets come off way easier than nhl nets. a safety precaution that may have saved stamkos' leg. but it's neither here nor there.
as much as i find myself cheering for canada, i certainly wouldn't mind seeing the US take it. big leafs fan, i like seeing jvr and kessel tear it up, and i couldn't imagine a rematch of the 2010 olympics going with another usa upset. the heartbreak..
all that said, go canada!
