hi,
i come from germany,female, 14years, 45kg, 165cm!
I think about buying the Chronic and buy it in US for 480euros inclusive binding and shipping here to europe.
i go 40%park 30%piste 15%moguls and 15%backc!
is this ski good for me? which one would be better? i wanna have a ski good in park but also good on piste and (moguls and bc).
i already tried to test skis but I am not able to, because no shop here rend theM(twintips) but i can get every one european here(no lines)!
i ski very good, but in the park i am not a professional one!
i tried my best with other carving skis, but this year i want my first twintip! so please help me and tell what you think about the chronic and the reactor 12!
best wishes and thank you

I ski the Chronics and the have the reactor on it..it would be a great ski for you to buy if you could by another ski for bc. It is not a good powder ski...look at some of Lines pro models they are a bit wider and would ski better in the Pow..good luck
Estctst101 got the last one . Here is a new riddle:
From house to house he goes,
A messenger small and slight.
And whether it rains or snows,
He sleeps outside at night.

if i was skiing in europe I would ski ALL bc...maybe look at the ARV's and Assassins...skis that are good in the park but better all-mountain...you will be hard pressed to find a good bc and mogul ski...your best bet would be two pairs of skis...assassins and 1260's...if you can only get one...go for a softer ski than the Chronics...as light as you are the Chronic will be soooo stiff for you in a mogul run

Well, alot of people on this site would lead a person to believe that ONE ski or ski company is by far the greatest ever...truth be told...most of the ski companies make great skis...you just have to find one you like...any twin tip that has a medium waste, and is the right lenght for you will be just fine...i personally ski line, but that is because they have always been great to me and Line, Armada, Rossi (Scratch), 4frnt, and troublemakers are all good skis as are head and volk (sp?)...I don't really like the 1080's, or K2's

depending on how much money u have available, you should get 4frnts. They are prob about the same price as Lines and they come in 160 which is what you should get. They are quite stiff at first, but break in after skiing them awhile. They are really good for all mountain, powder, park, crud, rails. I only have one crack in my edge and i skied all last year on them hitting mad rails.
Troublemakers have really weak edges. Lines make really good skis too and the new bindings they make are revolutionary. The chronic would be a good ski for you though, get the line binding too and you will be set up.
If you'd rather try a ski that most peeps dont have, try 4frnt MSP or STl in your size and they will rock your world!!

oh yea, and if you did get the reactor binding you would only need the 10's, not the 12's. 12's are for heavier people.
By the way, do you have an older sister??

i would recomend against buying line
SKIER'S IRRESPONSIBILITY CODE
1.ski FAST at ALL TIMES
2.take MAX air at EVERY opportunity
3.POACH everyone's favourite lines
4.IGNORE all posted signs
5.EVADE patrol at all costs
6.SMOKE big fat stinky ones
7.DRINK to excess

the STL for 550 euros only the ski and armada AR5 for 500euros.
which one is where best? i cant try so tell me how they are on piste, park moguls an bc... please.
is the chronic bad on icy pistes and are the other ones better with short curves? what are the pros and contras?
best one for me(45kg/165)? i would like to hear different opinions :-) pros and cons because than i can see how people think about!
yes i have an older sister, she will be 17 on 15th of december!
best wishes

for that price you are saving 50 dollars on the chronics deal...which is a decent deal if you ask me...i think you should just pick one...everyone is going to tell you something different....mine ski great everywhere but in the powder

the chronics actually sound like a good deal. You'll be saving quite a bit of cash. compared to those other prices 550 euro no bindings? holy shit that's crazy expensive.
I think really any of those skis will rip. The chronics will rock in the park, there stiff so if you crank them around on the groomers they be good edge hold.
If price is no issue i would probably go with the Stl's or ar5's (i have only skied the ar5). But since there is such a huge difference in price for what you want to ski, i think you'll be happy with chronics.

^^ how was the AR5? I don'T pay the ski, because I get it for birtday and christmas. With Binding and in Oberstdorf, where we go for skiing, i get the.... sticks!
Is the Chronic also good for lightweight people and in the moguls and on piste?
and what are the differences between them? is anywhere in the internet a site where they were tested and shown(details)?
the radius from the AR5 and from the 4frnt would interest me.
best wishes
p.s.:what size?(chronic 157/167) (AR5160!) STL 167

do you think that a chronic(line) is a little bit too much for a 14 year old girl because i am not soooo good! i can jump little kickers, not the biggest-until now!

but if the chronic is not okay for moguls it isnt good! because i am in a mogul-team and i have to can go there! what about msP it has a radius of 25M! that isn'T sooo good!
which one to take for moguls, piste, park and a bit BC

The MSP and STL aren't the ski for you. The MSP is too stiff, doesn't have enough sidecut, and is way too fat. The STL is too soft, is poorly finished, and feels like it'll break at all times. Whoever recommended a 4frnt for you over a Line is talking out of their ass, and is an embarasment to the ski industry.
The AR5 is a fantastic ski with lots of pop, a good turn radius, and a relatively wide waist at 76mm. The Chronic's waist is a little wider at 80mm, but the Chronic is much, much stiffer than the AR5. Maybe too stiff for you. Have you considered a Line 1260? It comes in a 164 and 153, is softer in flex than the Chronic, and will stand up to a lot of abuse. If you think you can go wider, then consider the Eric Pollard Pro in a 166, or the Mike Nick in a 158.
Salomon and Rossi also make good skis for you, including the 1080 and the Scratch. Check their websites for sizing information

www.rossignol.com
You can safely ignore most of the 'advice' given to you in this thread, as 95% of it is trash.
Bahahaha... or, you could call it the 'elitist snob' cult. Anyways, my family already owns a country club, so no thanks.

^ what he said about the ar5 is true, lots of pop good turning radius and not as stiff as the chronic. But, going wider if your doing moguls is not good. i tihnk at a 76mm waist the softer flex, good tunring radius, and since you don't have to pay 160 AR5!!

is it betterthan the scratch FS?
i can get both of them and i could test the scratch but only really late!
so the chronic isn't a good choise for moguls and powder, righT? and the STl,also. But the AR5 is okay at Pow, Park, Piste and Moguls?(BC only OKAY)....
but it has a waist of 76mm! but that isn't bad with my weight???

Chronic is to stiff for you, 1260 is to narrow for anything other than just park....and the ar5's are great skis as well...just pick one of those two...do not get the K2's

ah, jib this, its funny i reccomended 4frnt and didnt talk down line. And who are u to say our opinions are trash. you recommended salomon, one of the worst skis available. Im not going to dis on your opinion though like u did, because everyone rides different equipment. i have a pair of msp's and stl's and its the dopest setup.
Miss.Jibber., your going to get alot of diff opinions here.
You might as well just go with Lines. Get the line binding though. If you think the chronic is to stiff, then yes chek the 1260's.
Don't believe this fool talking trash on 4frnts though.

Hi, is chronic better than the others and is it okay in moguls? And are the AR5s okay in BC?
i could get the chronic 120euros cheaper, but I get one ski for next 3years and it has to be very good! it should bring it on piste!!!! and in park. also a little bit in powder and moguls!
the scratch is 80mm, too and it is good...

when the chronic is okay in moguls and piste it'll be the one. nbecause i am ~light and than i will have the surffeeling aswell! the only question is, whether the AR5 or Scratch is better because i can get them here in germany and the chronic not!
moguls and piste are important, because park they are all okay and bc will be okay with 80mm!!!
with 76mm i dont know...
