So if you couldn't tell by my sig or just haven't bothered to read it, I'm attending URI next year. And Rhode Island being Rhode Island, there's only Yawgoo Valley within driving distance. Me being from Massachusetts have never been to Yawgoo. having said that, I've only heard terrible shit about it which kind of sucks cause I was looking forward to skiing during college and shit. The question here is, has anyone who skis or works there heard anything about a legitimate terrain park being built there any time soon? Also, If any NSers are going there next year and want a room mate I'm down cause I know absolutely no one going there sadly.
Yea me and M.Rogers work there as ski instructors and im pretty sure hes going to uri but im going out west. As for a legit park, probably not but we are getting are PSIA park certs and hes trying to have park lessons so maybe something will work out.
I talked to him a couple weeks ago about it over pm but he wasnt entirely sure what was going down. I just want a park to ski while im there but im also not basing my college off of ski conditions
Just make the drive to Wachuset, Yawgoo isnt worth it. Im going to URI next year also, and Im just going to take the extra time to drive to Wachuset rather than Yawgoo. Plus you can just urban the hell out of URI's campus.
Im from RI and i went to yawgoo twice when we got snowdays in highschool. just go to watchusett or all the way up to VT. its fun for dicking around buts its got like 25 feet of vertical. your better off just setting up rails on a hill on campus haha
I live in Warwick and i have a seasons pass to Mt. Snow/Stratton so i'm there pretty much every weekend/break i get, it's almost 3 hours but it's worth it. If you ever want to ride up shoot me a message!
