I would agree - except pipe is the same situation.. maybe snowboard has more competitors since snowboard teams didn't have to allocate spots to moguls/aeriels?

anyone still looking for a stream

go to www.hola.org and install the add on for firefox and chrome. you can then choose the country you want to appear from, in this case being canada. its quite simple, just click like two buttons


then go to the CBC website and everything should work fine. im not sure if it is just me but it was buffering very frequently and there were heaps of fucking mcdonalds ads, some would come up like in the middle of a run.


ive got a feeling its because its registering as a new unique connection (as everytime it connects to your computer you would display a new ip) and therefore has to show you the two ads again. although im not sure.

I hope that once the snowboarders are done with the course they can fine the jumps better for a skiers typical speed and poppy-ness.

Seems like they have flattened out the takeoffs a bit, which a lot of snowboarders prefer.

Not sure if they can shoot from other spots but seems to be a ton of people right in that spot on the deck where those other shots were coming from. Hopefully that's not the designated area though.

I like the format though.


2 commercial breaks, 3 mini documentaries about their home life, 2 or 3 random tangents about nothing, 2 interviews at the bottom about nothing, and 1 maybe 2 womens qualifying runs.

nah, i just don't think its relevant enough to the general public to go into too much depth. but calling an upright spin a flatspin and something blatantly a rodeo a cork grind my gears a little bit. I really hope vanvalin is in it for skiing, he is right?

havent been following this thread that closely but just random debate it seems. Been looking for pictures mostly but this video http://www.nbcolympics.com/video/will-sochi-slopestyle-course-cause-problems-olympic-snowboarders%3F Seems to be indicating that even though there are snowboarders that have been unhappy with the course, response seems positive. Probably been posted already so, sorry if so.

They were during the men's qualifiers, but they messed up three times in a row and so they probably pulled it. Plus it's not really necessary Imo

I don't understand what all the fuss is about from boarders...

Why are they the ones that hate the course so much when some of the top skiers in slope are like "They're huge but they're safe! Lots of fun!" I don't understand what is so different between boarders and skiers that boarders can't handle the jumps. It's like 2 or 3 very vocal athletes that are saying it's sooooo dangerous.


Since when were pro athletes afraid of progression? The jumps are big and yeah they're pretty stepdown-ish but does that really make them so dangerous that they NEED to be changed?


I don't get it.

I find it amazing how many people were bitching a week ago about how little snow there was and how shitty the conditions were. You DON'T build a course that F-ing huge with no snow. Geez. Now they are complaining about safety. People are dumb. I have a feeling the same applies to all the western "media" bashing on the facilities, accommodations and venues.
