Too much flip off the lip and not enough spin set?
I just tried about 4 of these for the first time tonight. Didn't manage to land any but came a little closer on one that i didn't vide tape. So please gimme some advice so I can actually stomp one and post a landed rodeo 5 on instagram which would result it mad bitches. Once I do get this to my feet, any advice on how to take a rodeo 5 to 7?
Also, please post videos of sick rodeo 5 and 7s.

Yo Ethan. When you set your trick, you're kind of dropping your left shoulder toward the lip setting kind of an under flip. For rodeo, keep your shoulder's square on take off and remember the rodeo rotation comes from your hips. So keep your shoulders square, pop, push with your hips and feet kind of up and out to the side. That might be kind of confusing but the best I can do. Good luck!!

Thanks man that makes sense. Sorry everyone for posting this here but we all know trick tip is dead. More help appreciated but I'll definitely take Alex's advice into consideration.

so it looks like you set it right but then you try to make it too backflippy, thus under rotating the spin and overflipping the flip. when i learned them i kinda just did flat 3s then tried to add a 180, that seems to work well for most people when they're learning. as i've done them more and more though, i try to really drive my shoulder forward and roll over it. like, if you had set it the same way you did, but instead of opening up and sending it like an under flip, you really reached forward for a mute or critical i think it would have come around. tj explains it pretty well.

You're setting more for an underflip... the first part looks like a good rodeo set but the rest is straight flip over the top.
Do a couple straight 540s then flat 3 and look back for the landing of the jump. You don't need to do the flip part any different if your flat 3 is good.

Keep your stance wide, shoulders squared. When you're popping off the lip, throw your leading shoulder forward like your laying into someone. Let your feet go and they'll follow your shoulder through the rotation. If you throw your leading shoulder into the flip correctly and look around your rotation with your eyes everything else will follow through. When you watch yourself doing it on video the flip should look like one fluid motion. Hope that helps man, good luck landing it!

More spin less flip. You flipped a little too much and landed backseat. Very close but the spin needed a little more whip at the end. It looked like you hesitated a little which is why you didn't get that last 180 degrees.
