Hey guys. So, I'm wanting to set up some audio in my helmet, got a POC receptor bug, aaand I don't like to use earpads with my helmet. Not going without earpads just because I like the look(although it's nice that I do) but also because with my gargantuan cranium earpads feel very tight and uncomfortable on my head. Now, I would just go with earbuds, however I do not like having them actually be in my ear canceling out surrounding noise. Want to know what is going on around me in order to avoid crashes and the like, however, I REALLY like skiing with some background music. Helps me stay loose. I know most of you will say just go without it, but whatever, I like getting creative with projects like this.
So my conundrum, is how should I make an audio system(or I can buy one if there is one) that would kind of reside on the base of the helmet and provide some music I could listen to, while not closing off my ear. I've got some ideas of placing some speakers on the base of the foam in the ear notches, and then routing wires to stay out of the way, but was wondering if anybody had actually done this before and could let me know what they did, or if anybody had some solid ideas. Either way, I'll figure something out eventually, but let me know if you guys have got anything, thanks!
