I am a bow-legged, flat-footed wide-toebox having freak, so orthodics are essential for me. I had superfeet for one season a couple years ago, and my race coach told me that my skiing was being greatly hindered because my orthodics weren't doing anything more than making my feet a little more comfortable. He told me to go to Surefoot to get some real footbeds made, and it was some damn good advice. First of all, the Surefoot guys make you stand on a weird foot scanner thing, and they make you stand in a skiing position with your ankles, knees, hips, and shoulders all aligned properly. Once they do this, these little pegs come up from the scanner that you are standing on and they graph out a 3D model of your foot on a computer. They then make your custom footbed, and you proceed to ski with better balance and form and everything like that. They are a little expensive, but if you buy them when you are still growing they will make new ones for free when you outgrow them.
