I'm using the expert straps at 130lbs and they work fine for me. The big thing you notice with the booster straps versus traditional straps is that they eliminate that dead zone where you have no feeling of your tongue pressing against your shin from when you are unweighted in your boots (from jumps, rollers, or springing out of turns) to where you begin to feel the presence of your boot tongue. It gives you better feedback since your shin is always pressed snugly against the cuff of your boot.
With traditional straps no matter how hard you try to pull the velcro tight you'll always have a small dead zone unless you are pulling them tight to the point of circulation loss. With the ratchet + elastic it really does give you a more responsive feel in your boot. I used to think it was just a gimmick but now that I've used them I don't think I'll ever go back.
