Battle My Crew

Loon used to have a Battle my Crew comp. Real sick too. It's a shame they stopped doing it

382 used to host Battle My Crew at Loon every spring, Stept and Montage were always the biggest crews competing. Unfortunetly when Eastern Collective owner Matty B ate shit on a rodeo 7 over the channel gap in 2010 the event got shut down

Totally forgot about the Orage Masters! Not heard of the others but I'll blame that on being in the UK!

The video game events is pretty much what ur talking about except you can only have 4 people including a filmer. It's edit based as well.

Loon IMO has/ had the best contest series of anywhere.

Really wish they'd bring back hike and huck but doubt that will ever happen. Can't think of a better way to close out the spring than shredding with your homies in the 603 hitting a 40'+ booter and sick rails in may, grabbing some BBQ, and trying to win some cash. Glad I made the last one but really miss that.

They still have some sick stuff though. Last Call, not sure if they do the shop showdown anymore. Street cred was pretty fucking legit.

I'm not sure how but I've always felt that mountain flies under the radar. People know about Loon, but it seems to get a backseat or simply overlooked in discussions about the best parks in the east. It's been a few years since I've been but it looks like they're still killing it. Some of the most fun features too.

Always loved watching this comp, wish they still did it!

So do we...  Really, putting this contest was one of the best / most fun things any of us @ 382 have ever had a hand in.  Sadly, the "powers the be" were not cool with the "rawness" of the contest and decided to throw the Matty B incident in our face and shut it down forever, only to ask for help the next year putting on a ski contest... HA!

We tried to get shit going on in different places after Loon, but it was not to be.  Despite the awesome 4-5 year run we had this contest, featuring some of the best skiers around today, sponsors and mountains still didn't get it and weren't willing to give us the support needed to make it happen (note: we never made a profit off these contests).

That said, Mike Nick and Orage dhave an awesome contest with the masters and it's fucking awesome to see it return after a few years downtime.  Easily one of the best contests that has ever existed, far beyond what we could have ever put on.

Someone else should take the torch and run with it, skiing needs more contests / sessions like this.
