Double backflips becoming legit again?

With the whole double band wagon starting a few years back straight double backs went from not scoring well to scoring fairly well. Obviously they aren't going to do better than the harder doubles but the fact that it's a double has brought this trick back.
At one point a big stylish 9 could win over a double backflip, now the last few years there have been a bunch of straight doubles thrown in peoples runs.
It's weird. I think the whole as long as it's a double idea is kind of lame. Hoping at some point it comes back down and other better stylish tricks can do alright against some of the doubles and triples. Was glad to see es gagnier gettings scored well with his dubs in the big air. Maybe there is hope.

Double backflips were cool but they weren't big scorers. It was about the spins. Then when the whole double party got started they became decent scoring tricks again because they were a double.

If you're talking strictly difficulty it would be harder to 180 a jump like this.
What kink of 9, what kind of grab. Cork 9 is easy as fuck in the park.
If someone threw an actual laid out/not tucked at all dub in the park I'd say its just as hard as a rodeo/flat 9 blunt.

Who threw a dub backflip in a comp?
If your talking about BC jumps, then floating dub backies into pow will never go out of style.
I would be interested to see how a switch dub front would score in a comp.

Yup. Yeah sw dub fronts are cool odd tricks. Jesper Tjader was doing them with nose grabs a year or two back

Snerrrboarders. There have been a few every year and this year mcmorris was throwing one in his run.
People have been doing double backflips for a long long time. 9's and 10s were money tricks for slopestyle not that many years ago.
And yeah dub backs have always been cool I just meant for score purposes in contests.
All times are Eastern (-5)
