So over seeing all the hate towards goepper. People always complaining about how he has no style or that hes a "robot". Its just so ridiculous. Youre just all butthurt that hes not wearing XXXXL clothes like henrik. I guarantee if he put on some baggier shit like ABM, youd all love him. Forget all the hate. If youre not a fan of goepper for whatever reason, then dont be. You dont have to sit there and bitch about how lame he is when we all know hes a very talented guy. I agree he doesnt have as much style as most other pros, but honestly who fucking cares. Were all out here doin the same damn thing in our own ways. Hes a great skier and deserves appreciation for pushing the sport even further, not hate for not looking cool enough to you while hes doing a god damn triple fucking cork like are you kidding? He stomps 3 doubles and then a triple and he still gets shit. Its just so old. Get over it.
Sorry for the preach but this has been going on for way too long. So sick of seeing this guy get so much hate when hes such a nice guy for one thing and hes a really good fucking skier.
Bottom line, props to goepper. Hes been killing it and i cant wait to see him compete with the rest of the guys at the olympics in a couple weeks.
He does have his own style. someone without style is someone like Tribondeau, it looks like he throws himself in the air hoping to land on his skis, plus he dresses like my 60 years old uncle.
One of the nicest guys I know. Always encouraging kids. Nick took time off training in New Zealand to drive 5 hours to visit my son in the hospital when he ruptured his spleen (and also in Ogden hospital when my kid broke his collarbone). Stays at our home when he comes through town. Always gracious & humble. Plays ping pong like a bawwwsss. Just a great kid.
I think Mahler did the switch dub 9 screamin japan (or genie grab or whatever you want to call it) last year during Big air. As to the other guy's comment on Vinnie being the innovator: didn't Mike D give a shout out to the dude who invented that grab whilst commentating on Nick's slope run? It definitely wasn't Vinnie Cash
Tell me a sw dub 14 about 2 years ago was unoriginal, cos it wasn't, it was the first one. Also he brought the first triple to the X games Slope (admittedly in Practice) which was so stomped it was crazy.
can we stop using the baggy clothes point for style? there are plenty of skiers who people on NS love their style that don't wear really baggy clothes.
jossi, delorme, wallisch, lolo favre, talkington, etc.
it's not a clothes thing. if anything, i'd say it's more of a super clean vs. a slightly more unrefined style i.e. old wallisch vs new wallisch and especially talkington's skiing.
wesson, candide, sam hurst, nicky keefer, hatveit, (recently) sig tveit, the list goes on and on.
i think it's worth mentioning the the HIGHEST RATED video on NS of ALL TIME is of candide. in POV. a skier who has never worn baggy clothes, in an edit where you can't see clothes anyways.
It's funny because Sammy Carlson stomped the shit out of the same trick in dew tour big air the night before. He also held the grab for more than .2 seconds.
It's also funny because Ambuehl, Jossi and Jon Olsson stomped sw dub 14s before any of them. I also think LJ might have done one before Nick and Sammy...
