I just found a crazy on some 180 magic j with fks 14. I was more looking towards opus or jj, mainly for tree skiing, cliff, sidecountry, resort acces terrain, and a bit of backcountry. Should i get them? i'm 5'7
the magic j's are fucking sick but they're definitely less versatile than the opus or jj. however, if i was getting them as a pow ski and i already had other more versatile skis i would get the magic j for sure.
If you have powder, they'll be awesome. They'll work well in the trees b/c of the short effective edge but otherwise, they wouldn't do as well on groomers as the opus or jj.
I literally skied my magic j's everyday last season. Float like a dream in pow and in my own opinion charge everywhere else. Though they are pretty soft but oh so fun I would take the deal.
