Replying to Need help, how to hit steep lips? Alpine Valley's jumps.

Alpine Valley, WI has some of the steepest lips I've ever hit. I always hate their jumps as opposed to any other place in WI. They have a couple good ones, but for the most part...

Little Switzerland has flatter lips and steep landings, which is bomb. Alpine has steep lips and flat-as-hell landings. Is this a snowboarder preference or something?

I literally cannot do anything off these jumps, not even a safety grab, because have to direct all my focus to landing straight. They are hard as hell to pop on. But I really want to get comfortable with them.

Help! What should I do differently as opposed to normal jumps?

For reference, picture a 5-foot quarter pipe, then cut the top foot off, then put a flat landing 10 feet away.
